As far as I know UAE airforce already use Mirage 2000 so your comment is not true.

The interesting thing is the race shall be again on for the Mirages UAE shall phase out. Lets see who gets them PAF or IAF.

Probably Pakistanis as with their mirages and F-16,s

as far as I understood alot of the airforce in the emirates consisted of pakistani pilots.

Can anyone confirm this.

Only few Pakistani Pilots are there currently flying Mirage. They also have some US Pilots for training for F-16 (US asked UAE to not allow Pakistani Pilots to fly Block60 after embargo on us in 90's.).Pakistani fly only Mirage2000 and i highly doubt they will fly Rafale as Pakistan does not operate Rafale..so how will we give training? They'll most likely get French Instructors.

UAE airforce:

F-16 Block 60 Desert Falcon = 79 ( 1 crashed:cry: )
Mirage 2000 - 2000-9: = 68 ( Modranised by Dassault)

Mirage to be phased out ? replaced by Rafale ??

Mirages are not bad to buy if available ~ as a Multiplier .

To me its less likely.

In one word WRONG.PAF may have previously had things to do with UAE but their present role is fairly minor and will get more and more minor with the passage of time. UAE pilots are well trained by the USA and if they need help get it will will be helped by the french or the Americans

IAF wouldnt go for UAE mirages...
IAF already looking for 4.5th or 5th generation fighters.

PAF hav a chance, but I doubt that PAF will ever go for that and i suggest they shldnt.

I think PAF should getrid of all Mirages, F-7, A5 as soon as possible.
Its best if PAF sell them and fill some pockets and buy more J-10B, improve JF-17 with western engine n AESA radar....its rathar easy to buy western engine and AESA radar for JF then buying Rafeal, Typhoon or any other 4.5th AC ...and dont forget we are having F-16.
PAF will look f9.

Agreed with Mzubair. PAF dont go for UAE Mirage better to save money and go for RAFALE or nay other 4.5 Aircraft. If US sell 18 + more including 18 +36 + If us also agree to sell ++36 more thn go for F16 rather thn go for UAE Mirage. Save money and go for rafale ;)

Price of these UAE Mirages will be somewhere less than 20 million per piece, Why not Go for it....

that's exactly what I was wondering about.
Wouldn't you guys get them at a bargain, compared to going out buying new birds which are maybe 3-4 times more expensive?

Going for Mirage is Bad.... having multiple platforms is not a good Idea.

The Older Generation of Mirages, Induction of JF-17 and Maintainence costs all indicate that its good not to go with Mirages.

When you get a brand NEW JF17 for $20Mil why get an OLD Mirage for the same price ?

I think PAK should sell off their OLD Planes and Get more F16 or JF17, considering JF17 is so cheap.
