UAE authorities release dramatic clips of raid on villa where a huge haul of illegal drugs were hidden inside wooden doors

Dramatic video footage showing a raiding team in action that led to a massive drug haul was released by the UAE Ministry of Interior.

The short video, which runs for 1:55 minutes and posted on Youtube on Friday, showed how gang members were busted in a villa with a stash of contraband drugs as part of operation dubbed "Wooden Doors".

The Abu Dhabi Police recently uncovered an attempt to promote 4.5 million tablets, with an estimated street price of Dh250 million.

Around 11,750 of the tablets were recovered in Dubai by a team from Dubai Police, which received support from Kuwait security forces.

Police said the illegal drugs were found with a four-member gang, now facing prosecution.

The gang comprised three Arabs and one GCC citizen, and they had kept the drugs at a safe house in Al Ain with the intention of smuggling them abroad, said police.

The bust was one of the biggest of its kind in the UAE, authorities said.
