The process to replace oil is underway in most countries. The oil producers have 1-2 decades left to switch to other productive industries.

There will a drastic shift in preception of wealth once that oil income reduces.

Diversified countries like the US, China, Japan, south Korea, european union, Indonesia, India, Vietnam would have the upper hand in the coming decades.

Currencies are just a medium of exchange. Indian rupee will gain better acceptance, once we are a significant exporter.
Heavy machinery, weapons and electronics would be the major imports for us in the coming decades- due to limited education and research environment.
