UAE court sentences 2 Pakistanis to 7 years for gang-raping Pinay

A United Arab Emirates court on Thursday sentenced two Pakistani drivers to seven years in jail for gang-raping a Filipina in a bus on Dec. 31 last year.
The two had also been accused of robbing the Filipina after posing as policemen, according to a report on UAE news site Khaleej Times.
In its decision, the Dubai Criminal Court also ordered the two deported once they serve their jail term.
Court records showed the two Pakistani drivers aged 33 and 27 raped a 31-year-old Filipina jobseeker after they attended a party at a night club.
He also offered her a job and asked her to accompany him to his hotel. The victim agreed, and they rode a taxi.
But the suspect took the victim to a parked bus, and pushed her inside then claimed to be a Criminal Investigation Department officer and slapped her.
The second suspect was inside the bus, and also introduced himself as a policeman. Both then took turns raping her.
One of them also removed the Filipina's golden ring and took Dh300 cash from her bag, then took her mobile phone.
Police whose assistance the victim sought eventually arrested the two, who were charged with and eventually found guilty of kidnapping, impersonating, rape and robbery. — Joel Locsin/RSJ, GMA News
