Its a very strategic island. If UAE have buikt a base then its a very smart move and very advantageous for UAE. The Island to east of yemen should also be used by GCC to block iranian weapon shipments.

You mean the U.S/West made him lose his life. Iran tried fought a bloody long almost 10 years war with him to a standstill(despite Iran having a far larger population/human and natural resource). If anything Iran has to be grateful for the US./Western powers doing the job easily for them.

these are silly people whispers and are totally wrong on us what they say about us Pakistan. we were able to see off the Soviet Union , nato , and Indians with out any hesitation, Israel state has nuclear bombs to right and the Jewish businesses own worlds top brands and they still living off American charity’s and protection. What does that say about them then ?

a bit of history...The kinetic war between Iran and Iraq ended with a draw (no borders changed )true...but that war for Iraq went on because many people might not know or remember...Iraq at the end of her war with Iran was financially broke and in debt to Saudi and Kuwait to the tune of $50 billion dollars (1980's dollar)...Both saudi and kuwait asked for their money back and this enraged Saddam (the self appointed defender of Arabs against Persian)..so he invaded Kuwait ..and so that enraged the west and so they invaded him and then did it again and at the end he lost his life and his country went to Iran..simple ..just follow the bloody red dot ...conclusion..Iran won that war got the prize and became the strong man of the neighbourhood..

Moral of the stor: Size matters....do not mess with someone 3 times bigger..a good point to remember for any country punching way above their weight..
