‘U.S. wants to use India in missile shield against Russia, China'

If you are up-to-date with the latest news, Russia is actually closer to US these days compared to her own many NATO allies. The mentality of "containing Russia" is a past ideology that existed during Cold War. The reason why USA often goofs up its case in modern geo-political scenarios is that it is too adamant to accept and change its CW era foreign policy against rest of the world.

This creates tension and distrust among different nations whether allies or soon-to-be-potential-friends.

You have to read Putin's words on US/NATO attacks over Libya,

We treat America as it treats the rest of the World...."at an arms length".
The Shenanigans Obama pulled at his arrival here fools no one .

.
WikiLeaks mostly takes official gossip and think tank committee reports and release them as facts . This is a prime example I guess. The chances of either the USA or Russia launching a missile against each other or their close allies is just as great as the chances of India or Pakistan launching a nuke missile against each other. It is all talk and suspicion with no meat in the gravy. In both cases (USA and Russia vis a vis India and Pakistan) it all boils down to that old motto si vis pacum para bellum

Aughh LOL can you post an actual legitimate source not the "Hindu".

America is China centric that goes without saying. However the shield is clearly aimed at both Russia and China.

America wouldn't push forward negotiations for the 'START Treaty' if they are not showing concerns of the Russian build up of strategic offensive arms.

Amid Russian concerns that they feel threatened by the proposal of the anti missile shield in Europe, America are still trying hard to push that one through. It is an obvious attempt to shave Russia's capability and to Box them in.

START I - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

START (for Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty) was a bilateral treaty between the United States of America and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) on the Reduction and Limitation of Strategic Offensive Arms. The treaty was signed on 31 July 1991 and entered into force on 5 December 1994 .[1] The treaty barred its signatories from deploying more than 6,000 nuclear warheads atop a total of 1,600 ICBMs, submarine-launched ballistic missiles, and bombers. START negotiated the largest and most complex arms control treaty in history, and its final implementation in late 2001 resulted in the removal of about 80 percent of all strategic nuclear weapons then in existence. Proposed by United States President Ronald Reagan, it was renamed START I after negotiations began on the second START treaty, which became START II.

The START I treaty expired 5 December 2009. On 8 April 2010, the replacement New START treaty was signed in Prague by U.S. President Obama and Russian President Medvedev. Following ratification by the U.S. Senate and the Federal Assembly of Russia, it went into force on 26 January 2011.
