Islamabad, July 25 (ANI): Following the reopening of NATO supply routes, the United States has released the first installment of the Coalition Support Fund to Pakistan, sources said.
According to sources, Pakistan's finance ministry would receive 1.10 billion dollars within the next couple of days that would boost the country's foreign exchange reserves, reports The Nation.
Pakistan had claimed 2.50 billion dollars as war-related expenses against terror. The U.S., however, did not make the payment after the May 2, 2011 Abbottabad raid by the U.S., which killed Al-Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden.
Officials said the government had also estimated an income of 80 million dollars relating to the CSF in the last fiscal year. However, the U.S. did not clear the bills after the Salala attack by the U.S., which killed 24 Pakistani soldiers, followed by Pakistan's blockade of the NATO supply routes to Afghanistan. (ANI)
