U.S. officials have urged China to cease development of anti-satellite capabilities

The US didn't mention a lot of things, it is the typical damage control behavior.

Oh that makes sense. So revealing about the 2007 test defies that logic about being embarrassed that the Chinese can shoot down satellites.

Those dummy ICBMs were probably getting smashed into million of pieces by the KKV/EKV.

And I don't those extremely small debris can do much damage.

Something small going about 8000km per hour can do a lot of damage.

Unfortunately we are dealing with fools who can't comprehend things

The US purposely revealed this case as a political attack tool against China.

China has created more debris in the space, a threat to other nations' rocket and satellites, blahblahblah.

Unfortunately we are dealing with fools who can't comprehend things.

Then the US should cease its ASAT and midcourse tests as well.

Don't just be a double standard hypocrite who only criticized about China's tests.

Yeah sure, then we would have purposely revealed every test China has made correct? In this case only 3 tests and claim it as ASAT. We haven't tested ASAT until in response to China's test in 2007. Prior to that it was the 1980s.

There is nothing hidden from U.S. Space Command. The Chinese didn't reveal the anti-satellite test back in 2007 until the U.S. mentioned it while the Chinese stayed quiet. Because they knew what the world reaction will be.

We keep quiet about everything. Second artillery is a secretive force, for every nation.

Example, recent tv news still refer to a 20 year old pistol as Chinese developed pistol rather than calling it by its name. That's just how we roll. Would a pistol be destabilizing as well?

I think these types of test going forward, China should keep it a secret. Just like the quantity of Chinese nukes and sub development.

I think the US should keep secret the orbital debris field trajectories that we track and let the Chinese fend for themselves.

When suddenly more debris shows up we know you have done an ASAT test.
United States Space Surveillance Network - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
NASA Orbital Debris Program Office - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"Over 21,000 pieces of space trash larger than 4 inches (10 centimeters) and half a million bits of junk between 1 cm and 10 cm are estimated to circle the planet. And the number is only predicted to go up. There are also millions of pieces of debris smaller than a third of an inch (1 cm). In Low Earth-orbit, objects travel at 4 miles (7 kilometers) per second. At that speed, a tiny fleck of paint packs the same punch of a 550 pound object traveling at 60 miles per hour. Not only can such an impact damage critical components such as pressurized items, solar cells, or tethers, they can also create new pieces of potentially threatening debris"

China prefers to keep everything in low profile.

Back in May 2013, we did test a GEO-ASAT of 36000 km or 22370 miles above the Earth and claim it is only a regular scientific probe of over 10000 km.

Report: China May Have New ASAT Weapon | Arms Control Association

Wait why is there an article about this? Who wrote this article? Why didn't the Chinese keep it a secret?

There is a difference between low profile and secrecy.

As long as you fire something into high orbit you can't hide it.

Typical cry baby behaviour and double standard mentality from US.

China will not stop but instead double up the amount of test and hope the debris knock out all US satellite. US has more asset in space , we have lesser to lose. What can cry baby US do? Keep crying? Lol.

There are rumors of a stealth helicopter but nobody has seen it, thats how the U.S. military rolls. Is it destabilizing? I doubt that.

Most of these debris were not created by China. :coffee:
