You cannot copy engine and reverse engineer the same like that, It took decade to reverse engineer Cj2000...

OOE, They can get engines from ex-USSR states ? What about nuke propulsion? will it still require engines?

The Chinese have tried to buy the engines/powerplants from the Ukraine. That sale fell through. I have no other intel as to any sale of any similar engines.
