One F35 jet can carry 6 missiles and it can shoot down every chinese jet. Chinese aviation and electronics industry is only a few years old, can't compare to the u.s who had already flew stealth jet in the 70s. A primitive country like china cannot come out of the blue in a few years and produce fighter jets that is even on par with the u.s who took decades of research to develope let alone surpass the us. There is a reason why you only have chinese who try to steal u.s technology, but no american bother to steal chinese tech, lol. Bigger doesn't really matter in BVR combat. Also What makes you think the US won't have a land assets available for a possible conflict with china. The US can use Okinawa or even Taiwan's air bases to launch bombers if necessary.

The plan for carrier 4 & 5 (the one planned with nuclear reactor & EMALS) are on the danger of being scrapped because China still doesn't have the technology necessary for building it.

Even carrier 3 the one planned with CATOBAR are quite uncertain whether it will continue or not.
