mmm...comparing a muti-role fighter against a stealth fighter is kinda dumb. Not a single place on the article where it mentions the J-10B.
That's the Rafale's/Typhoon's main competitor.
As far as the latter's AESA radar is concerned, it is still in development, and estimates state that the Meteor A2A missile's development would be complete by 2013.
Even if India does finalize the deal anytime soon, it'll take some time to induct all 126+ fighters into full service. Coupled with AESA and Meteor A2A missile.
It is also stated that the J-10B will sport AESA. J-11B's are planned to go under AESA, along with various other upgrades.
The FGFA is J-20's competitor. The J-20 appeared just this year. Rumors have it there are more than one stealth fighter under development by the Chinese.
Note that the Indian T-50 and the Russian T-50 are two different programs. The main difference between the Russian one and the Indian one is that the Russian one will focus more on aerodynamic capabilities rather than stealth. Whereas the Indian one will focus on stealth features. Having ToT options from Rafale/EFT can also accelerate India's FGFA program.
How will the Indian FGFA really look? We'll just have to wait until 2017.
