Two wanted terrorists killed in security forces operation

RAWALPINDI: Security forces conducted a special intelligence based operation (IBO) in Jahanabad area of the city on Wednesday.

Two wanted terrorists, namely Asad alias Anus and Wahab, were killed during the operation. Both were being tracked by intelligence agencies for some time for their previous involvement in terrorist activities in Malakand Agency of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Intelligence agencies had earlier received accurate intelligence regarding the activities of the terrorists, who had recently crossed over from Afghanistan and entered Swat Valley for a possible terrorist attack.

Due to effective security measures put in place by the security forces, both the terrorists were traced during the operation and killed during an encounter with security personnel. Two facilitators of the killed terrorists have also been apprehended and shifted to an undisclosed location for interrogation.
