By this article it is clear that the rapists were experienced people who have obviously done this before. Otherwise how could he spike the "juice" on such short notice ? The taxi driver was probably carrying the drug with him, and it is known that most women in an Islamic society are too ashamed to admit to being raped.Even if they do, isn't there a requirement of having 3 or 4 witnesses ? Like proved by the incident, instead of pursuing the rapists and solacing the girls, the management of an educational institute decided to expel the girls. What a shame.

Events like this only encourage more rapes, and it was scary and funny how some people believed this cannot be true because the source is Indian.

That is the problem. You know as i do in Turkey how fast the reaction would be and no pressure would be required. Issues like this need to be addressed before a nation is able to stand.

The rapists must be brought to justice...However the Hostel auhorities have the right to take actions against the girls if they broke the rules.What makes me wonder, was expulsion a fitting punishment for going out from the hostel without permission.

It sounds like an overkill to me.Back during my college days,whenever a girl was found to be late to return to the hostel,she usually got a good scolding from the matron and a long speech regarding why they should be more disciplined.....

The hostel authorities should have shown a little solidarity to the poor girls at such a time....

Ok so what I understood was:

The two women left the hostel and in the process broke the rules. They were not allowed to leave, but they left anyways. They get abducted and raped. And then their hostel expels them. okay. I think losing a job is the last thing on the womens mind.

I remember a woman PDF member here once saying that travelling in a taxi in South Asia for a woman is never safe. Rikshaws is a safer mode of transportation for women in South Asia.
