Lol, why don't you tell the whole story.
Sanctioned ( because of US sanctions) F-16's without any Beyond visual range capability while Mig29 carried R77 Beyond visual range missiles , and they locked without coming in sight of F16's from Indian territory,. IF F-16's would have engaged them, they would have to go into India ( since they didn't have BVR) , it would have meant declaring war. If you are so brave now, the comparison is equal since we have AIM 120 C5 BVR with our F-16's. Lets see who locks whom first.
The most pathetic part is IAF awarded a gallantry award to an IAF pilot for locking on a handicapped F16 (without BVR) using R77 BVR, have heard airforces giving awards for shooting down enemy planes, but Indians give it to their pilots for just locking on hostile aircraft, isn't that pathetic !!!
Why didn't they come for a close combat fight, I guess they didn't forget how MM ALAM roasted 5 Indian jets in less than a minute in 1965 war.
Do read John Fricker's book of 1965 airwar, you Indians hate him, for speaking the truth.
Pakistan didn't want to declare war, we were saying we have nothing to do with people fighting in Kargil, why would we send F-16's into India, however when you guys tried to enter, we shot down Mig 21 and Mig 27 , also captured the pilot Nachiketa.
lol even talibs shot down several ruesian migs with MANPADS, so no big deal. besides your pakistani pilot was lucky that he was engaged by BVR missile so he was able to flee. had it been a dogfight he wouldnt have returned home that day.
