I know these things aren't "Turkish firearms" But I have never seen this "attachment" on any other G3 in other militaries. Can someone please explain to me the purpose of these trigger "attachments". I frist thought they might prevent neglected discharge, but why doesn't every one use these then.

It appears to be a trigger guard.

I've used some of the 9mm Turkish semi automatic pistols including Girsan, Canik and Sarsilmaz to name a few at the shooting ranges during the past five years and found them reliable and accurate. They eat Chinese, POF and S&B ammo without any ejector or cycling issues, are reasonably accurate at 25m (precision shooting), economical price-wise and also easy to maintain.

There are also quite a few 12 guage Turkish options in the local markets these days, though I haven't tried any yet.
