They should also make a 6.5 or 6.8 caliber version and get it over with. Might have a bigger chance for export as it has less competition in those caliber ranges.

Who would buy a carbine with unknown caliber? Countries produce national carbine relying thay they can find any time in anywhere ammos. Also inventory of old ammos also effects their choices. Turkey goes for .308 because we must have big inventory.

Look Israelis still use .30 carbines and ammo. Even they have produced special SMG for .30 caliber.

Story about .30 M1 Carbine very interesting. Americans found out that ordinary private soldier needs lighter caliber.30 is real middle caliber between 9x19 with .223.

IMO all Turkish police and local people must be armed with this type of gun and caliber because of terorism threats.

In Vietnam US Marines did special operations with this gun.
Masterpiece gun and simple, light, cheap .

Turkey develops long-range grenade launcher ammunition

Turkey has developed a new high-speed and long-range grenade launcher ammunition for use during anti-terror operations.

The state-run Mechanical and Chemical Industry Company (MKEK) developed MOD78-HE grenade launcher munition for the Turkish Armed Forces.

The ammunition, which will be used in MK-19, a 40 mm automatic grenade launcher (AGL), has a 10-meter-diameter destructive impact from a 2,000-meter-range fire.

It has the capability to destroy terror elements in asymmetrical war conditions and in urban warfare. It can also be used in an assault.

Currently, the Turkish army uses MK-19 automatic grenade launchers in its anti-terror operations.

Also, low speed and shorter-range ammunition are in use.

The mass production of the new ammunition is planned for June, while the certification process is ongoing.
