Turkish Peace Operations in Syria (Operation Olive Branch) Updates & Discussions

:( RIP Brave Soldiers.
isn't better if turkey provide just Air Support and Artillery Support instead of involving troops.
Hate to see soldiers die fighting worthless terrorists.

Not many troops are involved(hardly any ground troops) but it was an ATGM that shot a tank or two. ISIS has alot of advanced ATGM in their hands taken from syrian&iraqi army.

Allah sehadetlerini kabul etsin. ATGM's are a sneaky yet deadly weapon on the battlefield, rendering a static tank useless. Lets hope TSK sends in 100's of tanks steam rolling Daesh.

I think we need to increase our air support. Also im not sure how much the increased area is going to stretch the limited amount of FSA soldiers. I hope they dont lose any areas they already took while trying to gain other areas. Need to be wary of ISID counter attacks

And they say we dont fight isis.....
Those want Daesh be preserved so they can impose their regional plans, Euphrates Shield upset them.

Two Turkish soldiers have been killed by the Islamic State (IS) group in clashes in northern Syria, the Turkish army has said.

Another five soldiers were wounded in a rocket attack on Turkish tanks, the military said in a statement.

The fatalities are believed to be the first since Turkey launched its operation inside Syria two weeks ago.

Two fighters from the Free Syrian Army were also killed and another two injured in the attack.

"Two of our hero comrades were martyred and five were wounded in a rocket attack on two of our tanks by Daesh (IS) elements," the army statement said.

The rocket attack was launched near the village of al-Waqf, it added.

Syrian rebels backed by Turkey say they have recaptured a number of villages from IS since the Turkish operation - code-named Euphrates Shield - began.

The rebels have also retaken the key border town of Jarabulus.

On Sunday, Turkey said IS fighters were pushed out of their last positions along the Turkish-Syrian border.

Turkish forces have targeted IS inside Syria, but have also attacked Kurdish fighters in the same region.

The pursuit of the Kurdish YPG militia has led to criticism by Washington, which regards the Kurds as one of the most effective forces in the battle against IS.

News says Assad is re-advancing toward Aleppo.

If this comment is true then I don't even know what to say...

People are beginning to think that Erdogan's little adventure near Jarabulus ("Euphrates Shield") is actually part of the Russia-Turkey deal, which is supposedly where Russia agreed to let Turkey occupy Northern Syria in exchange for Aleppo. Most of the rebels participating in Euphrates Shield are pulled from Idlib and Aleppo. Rumour has it that over 5,000 rebels left Idlib and Aleppo to Jarabulus, significantly disrupting the operation to defend the Artillery Base from the Assadist hordes. If it's true, the silly rebels who left won't realise that they will be humiliated like the Southern Front is with MOC - prevented and forced to not attack the regime.

This is partly true ; turkey has shifted it's focus on eliminating isil and cutting planned kurdish corridor to yifrin.

Turkey us building it's own army of rebels whom focus Will be in the future to fight pyd after finishing off isil in the planned security zone .

The war with pyd will not end with just creating buffer zone to manjib and al bab . There will be future battles In tal abyad ; kobane and perhaps yifrin . All this will take place after clearing off isil in riqqah .

Turkey can't attack pyd east of euphrates as long as isil exists in riqqah . Once the isil threat is removed then there will be no reasons left to tolerate sdf presence in tal abyad

Still I don't like any country's Soldiers die fighting Terrorists.

It is clear from a number of reports/incidents Syrian and Iraqi army do not guard their Assets well.
Syrian and Iraqi Army are now getting shot by their own equipment.

Man made/drawn borders/countries by British and French = Very little unity = this situation. Apparently ISIS even had a few fighters it took after taking a syrian air base.

I told you guys ... we shouldn't go with tank to advance position in syria we will lose our army..we can help FSA from back..sorry but we will lose more :(
TAW can destroy an advance tanks not only our tanks.TAW has destroyed T-90(one of the best russian tank)
