Five Turkish soldiers were killed and nine others were wounded in an Islamic State Iraq and Levant (ISIL) attack in the al-Bab area of northern Syria on Jan. 20, according to the Turkish army.

The attack was staged with a bomb-laden vehicle by ISIL militants at 1:40 p.m. Wounded soldiers were taken to hospital immediately, said a written statement from the Turkish Armed Forces.

There are rumors going on that Turkey-Russia made a deal with Assad Regime about El-Bab and that we're going to stop El-Bab operation so SAA can get the city.

well could be true and if we take manbij what is the difference ? it is arab city and Assad never gonna give it to the Ypg !
BUt if we fail to take manbij than syria will decide the faith of Ypg and this operation and all of fallen turkish soldiers would be for nothing ! We need to work with assad and create a operation to the liberate hasaka and kamışlı instead.

i wouldn't be suprised if that was to happen Russia and assad have the upper hand in syria right now while we are on the weaker side so whatever term they said we have to follow them or otherwise. the best we can hope right now is taking over manbij...

Yes the M60T seems to be from that attack. Unfortunately ISIS also retrieved ammunition from this vehicle after it was abondoned. I am sure the rotten scum already have or plan to use that ammunition for SVBIEDs.

I really wish our government and military leadership cared more for the soldiers on the ground.

Well, alot of units from the Special operations are operating, SAS, SAT, OKK, Commando's what else do we need to send there? MAK? The soldiers personnel equipment is alright. They just reconnaissance equipment like mini uav's around. They should set up an entire thermal imaging around the entire city, not just from air but from ground. After the coup, Turkey has lost alot of experienced Special Forces units which they have participated in many operations.

Drone vehicles would be an game changer, driving it into the city and just taking out targets no loss for us just money that's it. Does Turkey have any drone vehicles? that could take targets down?

M82 Barret needs to be used for all units. against VBIED which is more easier to use against any target and easily to move around instead of calling up an Tank or IFV. M82 Barret could do the job with anti-material rounds would give no chance to VBIED drivers.
