Choose one you cant have both. Ottoman records prove majority of the Ottoman army was Turk while non Turks were barely recruited because they cannot be trusted. During ww1 most desertions of the Ottoman Army came from Non Turks like Arabs, Kurds, Jews, Greeks and Armenians.

Desertion rates of the Turks were neglible if not rare. But the desertions of the Ottoman army sure did screw a lot of things because most of those deserting started fighting us alongside the Allies.
