it seems we start using Aselsan's intercept sonar in our 4 AY class type 209/1200 sumarines. it is simply for listening other ships and submarines active sonars. they are the oldest submarines which are originaly equiped with German STN Atlas-Elektronik CSU 3-2 sonar suite.

MÜREN SYS AYi.e (milli üretim entegre sualtı savaş yönetim sistemi) will be operational in 2 AY class submarines with feb. 2019 and preveze class will be next (MÜREN PREVEZE) it seems among many other things most important capabilities gaind by MÜREN AY is AY class will have nationl sonar and ability to use heavy torpedos AY Sınıfı denizaltılara modern ağır torpido atma kabiliyeti, sensor (sonar, periskop ve elektronik destek) verileri ile özgün hedef hareket analizi, iz yönetimi ve özgün Silah Kontrol Birimi yeteneği kazandırılacaktır. Proje, geliştirilen sistemin envanterimizde bulunan 2 adet AY Sınıfı denizaltıda bütünleştirilmesini müteakip Şubat 2019’da tamamlanacaktır.
