According to İ. Sunnetci, Hizir torpedo counter measure system from Aselsan managed to stop one of the most modern torpedoes fielded (DM2A4) from a far distance while our foreign counter measure systems failed. Ultra electronics counter measure systems on our ships are now being replaced with the Aselsan HIzir system.

Interesting did not know the lower deck had a turn table

15 years ago Turkish local contribution was less than <20%

Today’s it’s >70%

They are looking to hit 80 even 90% localisation in coming years

Hopefully this will the change the strategy and eventually change policy’s and the way Turkey operates in the Eastern Mediterranean and rest of region

Many country’s indigenise for sake of indigenising to to give more money to local industry without having no effect on its foreign affairs

Hopefully Turkey does not follow this route and use its forces for fulfilling its foreign policy to its own benefit

That will be true advantage of 100% localisation

Our goal isn't 100% localisation though, it's about 80+ to 90% localisation with the most strategic components being among this. And even if a (strategic) component isn't local, they want to have the capability to produce it locally if the situation calls for it.

It won't change our naval policy in the Eastern Med neither in Cyprus. It will expand our maritime security picture and provide us a broader layer to further augment the Greek and the Egyptian on the Eastern Med.
