Turkish Naval Programs

Bye bye HMS Ocean ;( . Brasilia will buy HMS Ocean its official now. Brasilia is planning for HMS Ocean to be operational untill 2020
It is said to be paid for ship 100 million dollars.I wish Brazilian have a nice trip with HMS Ocean.
It doesn't cost this amount of money.

It’s not such a great loss. The ship would have costed Turkey like 80-100£ million and in a few years would have needed a total overhaul that would probably cost much more than that + a big waste of time.

Better just save those resources and invest them in TCG Anadolu or for future projects.

Turkey seeks to buy Harriers as an interim measure until F-35Bs are ready

Kerry Herschelman - Jane's Defence Weekly
06 December 2017

Turkey has been seeking to buy an unknown number of Harrier fighters as a stop-gap measure until the F-35B short take-off/vertical landing (STOVL) version of the Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) is ready for Turkish service, Jane’s has learned from reliable Turkish and Western defence industry sources.

Jane’s earlier reported that Turkey had expressed to the United States its interest in purchasing 19-20 of the F-35B STOVL version. This is in addition to the 100 F-35As it already plans to buy from Lockheed Martin.

Turkey first approached the United Kingdom about the purchase of Harriers but then turned to the United States for the AV-8B in the inventory of the US Marine Corps because the aircraft have not been used by the UK armed forces since 2010.

Stupid and waste of money. It seems to be a political decision not a defense one.

What about VTOL training of pilots and navy personals?Training Harriers, you wouldn't waste your stealth new super fighter which costs more than 100millions.
Don't be silly.
Edit:

Today airports, aerodromes still are being first target for enemies. Having been destroyed runway, Turkish army was able to stop the coup attempt .
Also Turkey needs to project own remote control capability to new realms?
Who would refuse a remote controlled, unmanned fighter which could launch from a container?
But first function of Harriers would be a good and cheap VTOL trainer for TurNavy.

You don't be silly , f-35B are very different aircraft , you can't use harriers for training f-35B pilots ... that's just stupid and pointless

As far as both systems/plans are equal, which are not.
