I'm sure they claculated it.... Also there is VLS... Better @isoo answer this...

There is already side plates to screen launchers, reducing RCS anyway. Placing a VLS instead of those launcers almost impossible for same section,need to lenghten the ship whicl will also increase the RCS,or reallocate the launchers as VLS will still leave an open deck in the same place resulting in same RCS effect.

Is that a final design (the pic everyone's debating)?

If not has any consideration been given to pop-up launchers, as seen on the Skjold-class corvette?

8 NSM missiles are hidden on each 155 foot Skjold.

All you need is open space. A distributed VLS system (these can be oriented vertically too), rather than a VLS cluster.

The only downside to that configuration is the plumbing for hot/cold launches would be a maintenance nightmare and very, very heavy - so a clustered configuration tends to be more ergonomic and economic.

They have considered it for FAC boat, to embed launchers into deck still needs lower deck to be not utilized. Yonca-Onuk also got a similar pop-up launchers in MRTP 44 . In FAC project they think to embed all 8 launchers into body as well.

In FAC side screening plates not logical,because vessel itself already has small projection,while for frigate it is more like same for hiding beneath deck, or using side screens. If RCS is this much concerned, going into a design like DDG1000 is the only solution :)

also other perspective, in frigates the loads on structure caused by global loads, rather than local loads as in small vessels. So the structutal contiunity is cruicial, they evade large deck opening on up decks where SSMs are located.

Also i liked this vessel, great :P . Matches our needs for FAC project very well .

Ok sounds plausible :tup::tup:

Özellikle yerli üretim gemilerimizde en ufak pas falan görmek istemiyorum envanterde olduğu süre boyunca. Her zaman cillop gibi olmalı. Hibe olanları o kadar önemsemiyorum. :D

I am so impressed on Ares FAC! With low altitude air defense system, it would be superior!
