The cost of Heybeliada alone is around $260 million US how can u expect 400 million can get you 4 warships?

A Turkish Naval Forces MILGEM (Milli Gemi/National Ship) corvette has arrived in Pakistan amid confirmation that Ankara is currently in talks with Karachi to jointly develop a similar platform for the Pakistan Navy.

The vessel, second-of-class TCG Büyükada , arrived in the port of Karachi on 26 October where it will be engaging with personnel of the Pakistan Navy in various professional exchanges, according to the Pakistan Armed Forces Inter Service Public Relations directorate in a media release on the same day.

The corvette will also be taking part in an at-sea exercise with the Pakistan Navy, which will enhance interoperability between the two navies, said the directorate.

"The visit of TCG Büyükada will further enhance the defence ties and maritime collaboration between the two brotherly countries", it added.

Büyükada was launched by Istanbul Naval Shipyard in 2011 and commissioned into the Turkish Naval Forces in September 2013. The 99 m platform's weapons include a 76 mm naval gun, four (two twin) 324 mm torpedo tubes, eight (two quadruple) launchers for anti-ship missiles, and the RIM-116 close-in weapon system.

The corvette can also accommodate a crew of 93, with spare berths for 13, and an S-70B Seahawk helicopter on its flight deck.

I think the Doctrine has to change , to meet the demand of modern reality the Naval Defence has to match to a certain level of our immediate navy not based on how much coast line or other irrelevant data

Has to be a % of what our enemy has in their arsenal or equal

Milgem is optimized for anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare and is very strong in those categories. While it does have some anti-air capability (Smart-S Mk2 with ESSM, RAM, VSHORAD, STAMP), it simply wasn't designed for that role beyond self-defense It is a formidable vessel against subs and enemy surface threats.

If brother Pakistan needs air defense out on sea, I think it should consider properly joining Turkey's TF-100 and TF-2000 programs. It'd really bring down R&D and unit costs for both countries. TF-100 is basically a longer Milgem with Mk-41 VLS that'll work with Genesis-II/Aegis and launch Hisar-U/SM-2. It'll have more of a multi-spectrum role.

TF-2000 is undergoing design as a proper AAW destroyer.

It is also amazing how Turkish and Pakistani officers are always welcomed with open arms when visiting each other's ports and treated like family. There's no other example of this in the world. Just incredible.

Pakistan needs bigger ship they already have F-22P frigate which AAW seems inferior to MIlgem ,but considering cost Pakistan can go for Chinese type 56 corvette for Anti submarine role and TF-100 for 4000 Ton multi role frigate.

Heck Pakistan just needs a platform read the article "jointly develop" probably a modified version to full fill our needs eg stronger Sam etc

. .
It's a pretty decent plateform. Pakistan can request Turkey to add few more gadgets to close the deal.
Pakistan need at least 8 to 10 corvettes.

Welcome our Turk Brothers. Hopefully, such friendly visits may continue in future as well the support and stand for each other against any adversary. PN has been interest for MILGEM/Turkish ships so lets hope for the best whatever comes next.
Current folks in Turkey are basically the amilgum of 72 different races, original Turkic races are some of them. So, the Turkish may be a better representation..
