What's new

Turkish Land Vehicle Programs

The fact that similar approaches(30x103) are gaining weight in different countries shows that the importance of 4x4 tactical wheeled vehicles as armed combat vehicles will increase in the coming years.
The general trend is turning more towards speed and mobility instead of heavy armor and protection like it was in the past.4x4 fits that role perfectly.Keeping distance and shoot and scoot tactics seem like much better protection, considering weapons used on modern battlefields.
I think that is why we are seeing more and more light vehicles armed with 20/25/30 mm weapon stations as well as atgm's(weapons that were reserved only for heavy IFV's in the past) giving them enough firepower to take out any IFV or tank(atgm armed versions),while just 10-15 years ago these vehicles mostly had either 7.62mm or 12.7 mm machine guns.
This will probably continue so we are about to more of it all around the world

What is this project ? Can any one explain in English what this video is about and what this project is ?
In this project, 8x8, modular new generation armored vehicle family is requested. Very high resistance to mines and IED's, and high mobility are the most essential requirements. Since the tower will be modular, it will be able to perform many tasks with the same base infrastructure. The tower in this video is equipped with a programmable 35mm automatic cannon.

P.S. Please check your inbox @Zarvan. I have a question for you, in inbox.

That is a huge turret… much bigger profile than before. Does the modernization bring a bigger calibre cannon?
