it's comletely different story.

we're first anounced this intent in 86 or 87 i guess. we wish to build some attack helo with other countrys coorparation. after that ah-1w cobra, a-129 mangusta, ah-64 apache interested our intent. our military test of it and results: apache more than we need, high price, complex. we dont need a cold war antitank helo. a-129 is light and not powerfull we need. we can use this helo in high altitude and heat environment. ah-1w super cobra is suitable for us. but some urgent needs we buy super conra from usa. 5+5 pockets. after that we take more than a 30 second hand ah-1 p / s helos from usa aid.

in 97 - 98 i remember we declare another contest. ah-64 is expensive and different for our needings. rooivalk good but not ready in this time. same time tiger is not ready and combat prowen plane to. a-129 light and engine is low power, comanche program is finished in their land, ka-50 hokum good but this not a nato standard, we need radically change this plane and its elecronics. ah-1w is suitable. but some political reasons this tries is down to.

after the 2001 we declare the same contest. in early times rooivalh has a good acceleration in our country. we like this helos and weapons. but you know this helo use french motor and transmission. french political reasons eliminate this helos in our race. then after russia pres. they try build perfect helicopter for us. ka-52 erdoğan. (not alligator. and yes the name is the same our prime minister.) new body design with two pilot, new gun system, israeli avionics, complatable with all russian or israeli made antitank guided rockets ant other armory. but some political reasons eliminate them. cobra is still suitable. goverment says conra is winner but if negotiations failed we can built ka-52 erdoğan with russia and israel.

but in the same time cobra is chancing. ah-1w program is old and ended, ah-1z is tested and planned. our requirement and spesific demands triple the plane cost. in that time we can buy 2-3 new f-16 or 6-7 ka-52 erdoğan with one ah-1z price. this adventure ended shortly of course. but our military says always, we need this helos and we need now!..

in 09 government anounced a new race. but this race for only show. they select a-129i mangusta for only base of new helo. they radically changed helos for our needings. they anounched fast but good program for build. all resources paid of course. actually t-129 is a brand new helo. and t-129 has a less then a theree years history. but our attack helo history is very dramatic and also funny.

if i'm wrong please correct me. lch based on a dhruw. (dhruw is a new but proven helo) and i think india can begin succesfully serial production in next 2-3 years. but india must really needs this helo. if they're build this helo for morale, technology development - demonstration and other reason. lch takes many many years like arjun or tejas programme.

I understand what you are trying to say but as you rightly mentioned LCH is a derivative of Dhruv which is a proven machine with exported units. The prototype testing may require another year before its final certification and if things go according to plans, it will be inducted by 2013-14 if not before.

First of all its Dhruv not Dhruw and yes you are wright lch is based on Dhruv which itself is loosely based on some european design . And yes you are wright again developing a new platform needs time and it would'nt have been suprising if Lch would have taken more time just like Arjun and Tejas and thats exactly why we decided to make Dhruv as its base platform as it was proven and we needed this machine very fast.

Guys lets not bring LCH here and just stick with this Turkisk mean machine.:toast_sign:

Although everyone would say that Pakistan and PAC was short of funds but more money has been spent on buying it from west and others as well.
Why we didn't went for the Joint development of Helicopters with China with Canadian Engines being license produced in Pakistan and China.
Like our Army wants:
50 AS550/Bell-407
70 Lynx/Bell-412
110 Mil-17 V7s

PAF:
21 Mil-17 V7s
21-30 AS550/Bell-407

PN:
30 EH-101 Class for frigates and Tankers
30 Z-9s/Lynx/Bell-412

So we have requirement of 161+ Mi-17s class, 100+ Z-9s/Lynx/Bell-412 80 AS550/Bell-407 class and producing such class with in joint development would not only mean that we will gain knowledge but also jobs locally. Every helicopter will ensure jobs in Pakistan. Counter Rotating technique would mean it would efficient in every way and an attack helicopter should also be produced like Apache.

.
Although my wish was that PAC should joint the Chinese in Helis program and try to roll out machines with counter rotating platforms of WZ-10 and other transport class
t-129 has better manovrability then WZ-10 and rotor diameter is appropriate for our LPD project

Hopefully Pakistani now won't say that we want to have carrier like this as we don't have money for such goodies now or in near future, we now need 11SSKs, 11+Frigates, 7+Corvettes and 11FACs.

ANKARA, Turkey, Feb. 5 (UPI) -- Turkish Aerospace Industries and Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa have partnered in a bid to win the Polish military's KRUK Combat Helicopter Procurement Program.

TAI is offering its T129 ATAK multi-role combat helicopter for the KRUK program. The helicopter is a variant of AgustaWestland's A-129 Mangusta, and would be customized for Poland using Polish companies.

TAI and PGZ met with 15 Polish companies earlier this week in Radom, Poland, to discuss possible cooperation but additional details were not disclosed.

TAI, however, indicated it plans a relationship with PGZ and Poland that will go beyond the KRUK helicopter program.

"The widespread product and activity range of TAI is an indication that this newly blossoming cooperation between TAI and Polish industry will not be limited to the KRUK Program," it said. "It will be a sustainable, long-term win-win relationship in which all parties will find opportunities to advance their business goals in local and global markets in the medium run."
