the bigger fact is how earth Turkey manages to balance both Ukraine and Russia and play the middle man

that is a diplomatic genius

It's not "genius" it's a requirement. Turkey has to work with Russia. We need their gas, we need their cooperation in Syria, our economy relies on trade with Russia and we also need Ukraine for many things.

We are unable to sever these ties even if we wanted.

In the Kuwait SİHA project, which started in July 2019, we left behind companies from America, Europe and China with Turkey's national SİHA #BayraktarTB2 . Good luck and good luck with the $370 million export contract we signed with the Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense...

Kyrgyzstan has bought a new batch of Turkish military unmanned aerial systems, a government representative revealed.

The systems are the Turkish Aerospace Industries’ Aksungur and Anka, presidential press service head Daiyrbek Orunbekov wrote on his Facebook account.

Orunbekov added that the systems are already in the country.

The platforms are in addition to two other Turkish drones — Baykar’s Bayraktar TB2 and Akinci — the country acquired earlier.

Portugal has begun talks with the Turkish drone manufacturer Baykar about purchasing unmanned aerial vehicles. Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu made the announcement during a press conference with Portuguese Foreign Minister Joao Gomes Cravinho. “We had the opportunity to discuss many issues with Portuguese Foreign Minister Joao Gomes Cravinho, from commercial relations to the defense industry,” Çavuşoğlu said at the joint press conference.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu did not comment on whether Portugal was in talks with Baykar about purchasing Bayraktar TB2 or Bayraktar Akıncı. If Portugal purchases Baykar’s Bayraktar TB2 systems, it will become the second European country to do so, following Poland. If Portugal is in negotiations with Baykar to purchase the Akıncı drone system, Portugal will be the first nation in Europe to operate these systems.

too many projects to keep track of but seems like Turkey is working on indigenising all the sub-components

no doubt this has come from the sanctions

good call

It's not just the sanctions, but rather, top-down planning focused on growing the private defence industry, promoting R&D people (not generals or bureaucrat), and investing in the industrial base (that feeds into the defence industry). If anything, most of the results we see today are because of Turkiye leveraging the access it had in the non-sanction days to grow the right areas (i.e., critical industries, R&D, etc).
