You are on to something there, but keep in mind that Kotil wants to launch the project after 5 years, so wjat we are seeing here maybr just planting a seedling for cooperation.

He didn't say that. He said that they will start the design work in 5 years.
Speaking of which, design will most definitely take more than 5 years if by design you mean the time spent from program start till serial production, so I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you.

I remember Cahit Ciray, a redeemed professor at METU Aerospace Engineering saying that a TAI built F-16 is the only F-16 to ever pass all 3 sorties of NATO with perfect scores.

Licensed production do not equal to design of a indigenous modern fighter jet. I hope people get their facts right.

I didn't claim it did, your buddy was insistent on countries being able to build 1st-4th gen fighters so that a 5th gen fighter could be developed. That was pure and utter crap. Investment in the necessary fields is required and those investments are happening in Turkey, not that your comrade would know, he's too far up his own "glory" to do some research.

You need a team specialise in aviation and running a complete fighter project. A modern high speed wind tunnel to verify your design concept. Production only helps you in the final stage of serial production and not making a own design.

Like China did by buying help from Israel. Turkey is also buying necessary help to build it's 5th gen fighter. Your comrade trying to smear Turkey because Pakistan might be interested in TFX programme is just exposes insecurities.
