Hello Xenon, nice to see you around. I am surprised and saddened that you have developed ambigious thoughts about Pakistan on account of the Uighur issue. I always took you as a mature, sophisticated person and not one to make crude abstractions of what are complex matters.

Relations with countries are complex, like any relation and the parties don't have to see eye to eye on everything. Sometimes they may have to agree to disagree. The Uighur issue is complex and I can open another thread to explain to you why Pakistan does what it does and Turkey as a friend ought to understand. Ambivalent policies are part of statecraft and Turkey itself exercises a deft approach to a complicated world.

I understand. I well know that Pakistan's policy on Uighurs stands entirely at another level but try to understand there are potent existential reasons for Pakistan to do so. it's like having a gun on your head. I will explain in another thread and tag you. Do please contribute as your a senior Turkish member and any discussion would go beyond you to others Turks. I am convinced I can explain our situation and you will understand. Not saying you will be glad about it but you will certainly appreciate our posture. Including mine. I actually don't like Chinese at the point of being accused of racist. There is not much I find in them at a personal level that appeals to me. But this is about geo-politics.

Even under Kemalist regime, relations remained more than great.

Common error we make is that we attribute the relation to common religion when it's really out there due to historical context, and history is something every one in Turkey, regardless of political alignment, respects.

I am not saying that relations with go sour. it wont be as warm for sure.

Good if you believe, There was one history with Gulf Arabs too but they couldn't issue statement against Indian occupation of Kashmir for the first time. but there was no such history with Malaysia whose leader condemned human rights violation in Kashmir this year. situation changes.

One thing I will ask the Turks here before they judge us. What has Turkey done to ameliorate or improve the situation of the Uighurs? And that Pakistan has neglected or failed to do making the Uighur position worse?

Nothing, but the Turk Nationalist want Pakistan to go suicidal and ruin its most strategic relationship for uyghyrs while its own ministers daily pay homage to China.

We might not like eachother but should stay in a respectful manner without slandering people when they have clearly stated their opinion about something.


Thats what i wrote just one hour ago.

He silenced it to death but i dont expect anything else from him since he cares about other muslims more than Turks. He also needs the money from China since he run the countrys economy against the wall.
Besides, you know im not exactly known for being a erdogan lover.

And something that all Turks should note. While Uighurs are your brothers in kith they are our neighbours. China is our neighbour to the north. But the truth is it is East Turkestan. Kashgar, Khotan are only about 400 miles north of Islamabad. Kashgar is a traditional Uighur city. So our relationship with Uighurs will always remain consistent. But we are not in a position and frankly neither are you of undoing Chinese expansion into this region in late 19th century. We have to work together and not get emotional about it. There are large number of marriages between people from North Pakistan and Turkestan. We will be the window into this region via the Karakorum Highway. So you need to look at the big picture and not get pissed off because of some idiot on PDF or Prime Minister Imran Khan's silence on the subject.

I will be honest with you, i started thinking differently about Pakistan once i saw how Pakistani state and many Pakistanis on the forum were helping China in covering up the facts about the situation of the Uyghurs in China.

Not that i expected any support in the issue to begin with but seeing how you guys were even helping them in covering up the attrocities was the red line for me.

In short i neither expect support nor a thanks from Pakistan anymore, no offence but this is my honest opinion, i hope this answers the question in your mind.

We respect your opinion but we don't buy western and Indian propaganda. Not saying that there is no single incident but incidents happen in our Balochistan and your Kurdiatan too.

Anyways, I fully support my Turkish brothers in their pursuit of interests against terrorists.

Our train of thought is uses the same template of reason, logic and rationality. That gives me a common frame of referance. Not the voodoo doodoo you get with some others without naming them.

No offense meant, I respect your opinion, we are in same situation or even worst we have terrorism on Western border, India on eastern border, China is only friendly neighbour of Pakistan, only border where people don't wish to destroy us, but some people want us to destroy that relationship too.
