The first native airliner project of Turkey, developed in the platform of Boeing 737, keeps proceeding. While the Galley is the first unit of the project to come out, it is being planned that this unit, which successfully passed the structural test, is going to be installed into the Prime Ministry airplane.
The first native airliner project of Turkey, which was initiated two years ago by ripping off all the components of a Boeing 737 that belonged to Turkish Airlines, and enumerating them one by one, has yielded its results already. As a result of the work that was carried out within the scope of the project, Galley has been the first unit of the airliner to be completed. This unit coming out of the 11 thousand 900 kilograms of structural test with success is being planned to be assembled into the Prime Ministry airplane.
The engine is prepared at Sabiha Gokcen
It has been stated by the Head Office of Sem Plastik, who produces the plastic components of the Galley unit of the first Turkish airliner, that this project running amongst the aims of 2023 progresses rapidly. Turkish Aerospace Industries is carrying out cooperation with the USA at Sabiha Gokcen for the engines, and Sem Plastik is cooperating with Turkish Cabin Interior (TCI) as joint work, in which the Galley has already been completed being developed.
Structural tests are successful
It was stated that the completed Galley unit was able to carry out 11 thousand 900 kilograms of structural test and therefore, has become successful after a lot of phases and tryouts. 32 test levers fastened to the Galley pull the Galley for 11 thousand 900 kilograms, which proves it to be endurable.
Enumerating was done one by one
All this operation was initiated by the ripping off a Boeing 737 into its components and being enumerated one by one by Turkish Airlines. Then the enumerated components were put price on. Therefore, the Turkish firms were able to learn the prices of the components that they are going to produce. After that, the airplane was reinstalled in components and flown again. Thus, the first airliner of Turkey was defined in components, except for the engine.
Airliner sub-industry to arrive
There is also a sub-industry for airplanes coming with the first native airliner, as well, as there is for the automotive sector, suggested Sem Plastik Head Office, adding that the required components for Boeing 737 are being developed in teknopolises at the moment. After these components are started to be produced, Turkey is going to be able to meet the required components for airplanes not only in Turkey, but also for those around the world.
