Turkey's Economy Keeps Expanding ( Despite All )

EU's nation is not only Germany and France. I dare say Turkey is much better than countries like Bulgarie, Greece...or other east Europe. Hell Turkey is in G20, which make Turkey only behind 5 countries in Europe i think.

True, and its why AKP lose voter during the first election in 2016. During the second election they only come back because of the need to create a govt.
AKP lose voter since 2012, because they are not so good like in the past, but you cannot expect all AKP voter to change their opinions only because 2012/2016 mandat. We will see what come next, can AKP continue increase the economie like before 2012 or they will continue to lose it ?

Germany is the only EU nation with a similar number of citizen 82million Germany 79million Turkey...all other nations in the EU have far less citizen and are harder to compare to Turkey...

I guess you dont know what the G20 group is? It´s not a group of highly developt nations... it is the group fo the worlds largest economies and largest popultions... it represents 85% of the gross world GDP, 80% of the world trade and 66% of the world population... it is a group of highly developt economies nation and emerging countrys... and NO turkey is not behind only 5 nations of the EU... all EU nations are represented by the EU...the G20 are only 19 individual nations and the EU .... Germany, France, UK, Italy are also represented individualy because of their size.

The ranking of the G20 based on % of the worlds GDP
EU 25%
USA 21.7%
China 10.9%
EU without (De, Fr, Uk, It) 9.4%
Japan 8.4%
Germany 5.1%
France 4.0%
Brasil 3.6%
UK 3.5%
Italy 3.4%
Russia 2.7%
Canada 2.5%
India 2.4%
Australia 2.1%
Mexico 1.7%
south Korea 1.6%
Indonesia 1.2%
Turkey 1.2%
Saudi Arabia 0.8%
Argentina 0.6%
south africa 0.6%

Spain is a permanent guest and could join with a own seat but they are happy with their represtation through EU... Turkey is rated in this group as a emerging country

Not really population are only one critierion, the economist will certainly not compare only countries with similar population.
For exemple you compare Turkey with Bulgaria (which have less population than Turkey) or compare it to Russia (which have more population than Turkey).
In any case before to say Turkey cannot compare to any countries in EU, don't take Germany, the richer country in UE to compare it. EU is not only Germany, France but Bulgaria, Greece too.

One thing I hate the most in the world is when people who talk like they know something when they dont. This is not something thats opinionated. 1+1=2 simple. Statistics below on erdogan era. We are now near China in growth in last 15 years.

View attachment 388314

Look at your own figures. 2008 was the worldwide financial tsunami, no fault of erdogan. Allow for that, and you have a consistently high growth rate.
I don't know what beef you have with others, but the fact is that France is one of the world's larger economies, high technical ability and a nuclear power.

Bar last 300 years, france is a weak insignificant country, even at its height it got crushed like a wasp and it surrender to be saved by uk.

Turks defeated combined Crusades more than anyone in history, this includes combined powers of europe, at times while fighting Ilkhanate Mongols too. That is something nobody in history has done or could do.

And today france is nothing special. You are talking as if you are a super power, your paris is a dirty ghetto town that nobody in their right mind would go again and probably dont.

For you to compare the keyfigures... I added Bulgaria as one of the poorest EU nations, Greece as the nation with the most problems in the EU and Poland as a average EU nation outside the eco superpowers like France, UK, Italy or Germany

GDP per captiva PPP
Turkey $18.956
Bulgaria $17.060
Greece $24.535
Poland $24.951

GDP anual groth rate
Turkey 3.5%
Bulgaria 3.4%
Greece -1.1%
Poland 2.7%

inflation rate
Turkey 11.29%
Bulgaria 1.7%
Greece 1.3%
Poland 2%

unemployment rate
Turkey 12.7%
Bulgaria 8.21%
Greece 23.2%
Poland 8.5%

Employment rate
Turkey 46.2
Bulgaria 49.2
Greece 76.2
Poland 64.9

Terrorism index
Turkey 6.2
Bulgaria 1.6
Greece 4.2
Poland 0

Turkey has some key problems
for the size of the nation a high unemployment rate
a low employment rate (means there are many people without jobs not registered as jobless)
a very high infaltion rate which kills internal consumer trade
a verry high terrorism index which keeps tourists outside, slow down invenstments

All things a government could change if they would stop pumping money into prestige objects

Bulgaria as a former east block nation has a constant groth rate, they grow from $9.7billion in 1994 to over $50billion since 2007, their GDP PPP per captive raised from $8029 in 1993 to $17060 in 2015 (no acctual numbers from 2016 or 17 avaible) to compare the Turkey GDP PPP per captiva raised $10.567 in 1991 to $18.956 in 2016 ...means in 3 years less the Bulgarian GDP PPP per captive growed faster (over $9000) then the turkish GDP PPP per captiva ($8300) ... so most likely Bulgaria will pass Turkey in that area in the next years... simple reason... average unemployment rate, higher employment rate, low infaltion rate and low terroris index that could keep tourist and investment out

Compare Turkey to countries that are on the same rank. Like Netherlands for example. Netherland had a growth rate of 2% for 2016. Turkey had 2.9%. Almost 1% more. Also we must note all the factors that had effected the final results of the economy. 1. Terror attacks and fight agains several terror organisations. 2. The coup that created huge negative effects on different platforms. The coup caused on the first week a damage that was more than 80 billion TL. After that the Operation Firat Shield took place. Besides this Turkey is struggling with more than 3 million refugees.

So what is the problem of the Turks here that still are unhappy?

You are comparing us with Netherlands with a population of 20 million??? Aren't we a superpower? Why compare with a mini eu country? Compare with Germany the head of falling Europe (sarcasm).

why you fools compare % in GDP groth ... % in GDP groth means nothing if I have 1.000Euro and get 10% more I get 1.100Euro.... now the other has 100.000Euro and gets 1% more he recive 1.000Euro... I take the 1% and let you party about our shinny 10%

GBP PPP per captiva
Turkey $18.500
Netherlands $46.686

No one liked Cem Uzan and how he did business. But to deal with him AKP needed to buttfuck the laws.

I don't think there is any reason to compare Turkey with other countries. it's only an attempt to deviate from what the real problem is. If you by comparing Turkey want to say "we're doing fine" then you're wrong.

First of all, all the Turks here saying there is a problem and then the other side who support AKP, and RTE denying it, and saying nothing is wrong.

One side is blind the other side crippled, how do you propose we work together ? (hint: we don't, it's like football, you are either Besiktas fan or fan of some of the other loser clubs).

Considering Turkey is nearly 5 times bigger than The Netherlands in population so these numbers don't look so shiny, don't they ?

I am sorry to say that but the whole economie of a nation is a refelction of the government work... no matter what nation the governemt makes the rulebook and the economie plays inside this rules..if you have capitalistic employers who fire and employ people like they want it is not their fault..it is the fault of the government to allow such behaivor ... so at the end it is the government... the only and realy only thing the government cant change are seasonal changes because of weather... for example more tourists in summer than winter so more employees needed in hotels and tourist areas... but that counts for every country... in Germany the wintertime mostly stops all outdoor construction works... a mild winter with early warm phase has impact on unemployment rate... BUT all other reasons could be regulated by the government ... Germany had a high unemployment rate from the late 1990´s till 2005 of over 4million up to 4.8million in 2005... they made changes and reforms to correct this to make the work force more fexible without loosing all rights... in the last 12 years the unemployment dropped from 4.8million to 2.6million and that with all the new people who moved to Germany the last two years...

The state does not create any jobs. It can only define the framework conditions. One of the reason that we have a low unemployment rate are the 'mini-jobber', which not earn enough money from work and still dependent on state saleries. Also many unemployed are in workmanships and out of any unemployment statistics. This and many other tricks beautify the statistics. I know it and you know it.

You know the real GDP and GBP in turkey is much higher. Maybe around 20% higher. Same goes for unemployment rate.

It doesn't matter if my claims bring you to laugh or not but as you said before, they are 'official numbers'. What about unofficial numbers? https://de.statista.com/statistik/d...haft-in-ausgewaehlten-europaeischen-laendern/

Btw, you post other numbers than your source claim. Are you not able to reproduce simple numbers?
