Turkey to help set up 10 community clinics

The Economic Relations Division has signed an agreement with the Turkish International Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TICA) to construct 10 community clinics in the country’s six districts.

Md Salim Reza, joint secretary of the Economic Relations Division (ERD) and Burak Saritala, TICA expert signed the protocol at the conference room of Economic Relations Division (FRD) in the city’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area.

Under the agreement, TICA is inclined to furnish grant assistance of US$250,000 to Bangladesh in order to establish 10 community clinics in 10 upazilas of six districts — Dhaka Manikgonj, Narayangonj, Faridpur and Jhinaidah — under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

During the 4th Joint Economic Cooperation Meeting between Turkey and Bangladesh held in Bangladesh on November 12 to 13 last year, the Turkish government expressed its keen interest in assisting priority basis five projects in health, education, capacity building and vocational training sectors. —BSS
