HYDERABAD, MARCH 18:
Turkey seeks to double flights from India, besides opening four more connecting points. The other destinations that it is looking at are Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata and Bangalore.

At present, Turkish Airlines operates daily flights from Bangalore and New Delhi to Istanbul.

“We have sought permission from the Indian Government to double this number and expand to other destinations,” Dr Burak Akcapar, Turkish Ambassador to India, said.

Free Trade Agreement

Referred to as the Sick man of Europe, Turkey has now emerged the 16th largest economy in the world. After signing free trade agreements (FTAs) with 21 countries, Turkey now wants to sign one with India.

“Last year, the bilateral trade volume was just $7.6 billion. This is nowhere near to the full potential. We expect it to grow to $20 billion in the next few years,” he said.

The Ambassador was here to attend a roadshow by TUSCON (Confederation of Businessmen and Industrialists of Turkey) to promote the upcoming Turkey World Trade Bridge in June.

“India and Turkey have completed a joint study on FTA. We are yet to sign it. This will pave way for signing FTA. We are awaiting the Indian side’s time for signing of study. Businessmen from both sides are eagerly waiting to tap the potential,” he said.

Consulates

Turkey would open a Consulate in Hyderabad soon. “We have received permission to open consulates in Chennai and Hyderabad. But before establishing consulates, we will appoint honorary consuls,” he said.

Turkiye needs to understand something very clearly, you doing a partnership with India is not going to be accepted well in Pakistan. Turkiye's foreign policy thinking it can be friends with all, isn't going to work. In spite of growing Turkish-Pakistani ties, you can't say you support the Kashmiri cause and then be expanding ties with the enemy, you're in direct violation. Turkish Government even wanted to open borders with Armenia back-stabbing Azerbaijan. A brother doesn't aid his brother's enemy.

As far as China ties with India, China is playing India and in the future both Pakistan and China are going to wage a war against that beast, hope for Turkiye's sake their expansive airline planes won't be on the tarmac when Pakistan Air Force bombs them.

This is how it is on the political and economical front, Turkey is a Capitalist country, and as is the nature ultra capitalist, they are willing to sell the cause of a brother for some cash. In Capitalism, there is no morals.

With the Arabs and Turks back stabbing Pakistan by establishing stronger ties with our enemy, it should be clear as cloudless night to every Pakistani that we must wake from our "brotherhood" dreams, there are only National interests and only those countries can be termed brotherly who share our interests, and this includes China, Iran, and Russia.

It is these countries with whom we should strive to better our relations with, and of course there are more.

We should recognize Armenia and this will not only improve Armenia-Pakistan relations, but it will also indirectly improve Pakistan-Russia and Pakistan-Iran relations from current level. Not to mention Russia will allow us considerable influence in Central Asia, something NATO's Turkey has been unable to do.

trying to dictate terms to others.:azn: i dont think turkey or any other country give a sh!t abt such threats. today's world is all abt interests & benefits & not abt empty talks of friendships.

Every Turk on here and in general better be ashamed of this news. Don't even show your face.

They will probably come here and bring up some brotherhood nonsense to try and persuade us that its nothing considerable, when in fact it is, considering its long term affects on Pakistan's cause.

like it or not trade is trade you should know now not to rely on Islamic brotherhood we have good relations with practically every arab country and have high trade with UAE,KSA, and we are even stepping up trade with Iran Saddam even declared Iraq's support for India in the Kashmir issue why? simply because we offer countries products materials among other things for cheap and once when we get to their markets we cozy up with them diplomatically.

and as for your last paragraph all i have to say is HA you guys cant even come into our airspace without being intercepted did you forget about the last time that happened we downed one of your naval spy planes after it tried to make a dash back to Pakistan. but your AF knows better which is why it doesn't try anything risky near IB.

China's trade with india is not in india's favor, rather its in China's favor, the trade deficit is very large.

I agree with this, it's all strategy and interest. We should expand ties with Greece and Armenia, apparently Armenia has oil that could be used as energy for Pakistan.

listen pakistanis turkey is your brother and respect the brotherhood btw islamic nations. but unfortunately turkey is fast, developed and smart economy who wants its ppl to prosper and india is one country which is rising rapidy. buth turkey and china r ur brothers and our buisness partners. brotherhood is not the food of life and economy.

We already are aware of Turkish relations with India, and they should be scrutinized. Meanwhile, you shut your mouth, what are you even doing on a Pakistani forum? Pathetic Indian.

u guys should definately need to talk to them before india turkey trade reaches over 20 billion because then it will be impossible.

the more Pakistanis think about this 'Brotherhood" $hit; more frustration will be one the way... every county looks for their interest first - except Pakistan... Khud ka ghar jal raha hai par dusaronke mamle mein ungali karna nahi chodenge... :hitwall:
