Turkey to develop indigenous Airliners...

went quickly through the article. nowhere is given the impression that Turkey is planning to compete with big companies like boeing. neither mentioned OP anything about that. that would be impossible anyway given the amount of R&D budget. anyway, i dont know where you pulled the Ottoman empire from, but it made your point even more senseless and vague.

My point made sense. It more likely for Turkey to create a new Ottoman empire than for it to create an aircraft company the scale of airbus or Boeing to compete against them.

My words were directed at your saying that Turkey first needed to resurrect the imperial Ottoman empire before it could do such a thing. That didnt make sense. Anyway, you have your opinion, i have mine.

Commercial aircraft producers is not only limited with Boeing or Airbus.

Do some research on Brazil's Embraer - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Embraer is an excellent model for Turkey

This is a long-term project for Turkey.

It will have to use imported engines(US/EU and China(?)) at first but can think about replacing with indigenous engines for the long-term.

You clearly didnt pay attention. No one in here is talking about a company the size of Airbus or Boeing. We're talking about something way smaller. Small and Medium sized aircrafts.

What about Japan?

they have no commercial aircraft market. I think S Korea and Japan would be a better model for Turkey. Turkey should first try to create a world class automobile market and be a top player in both US and China. If it can achieve that, than it can think about building a boeing.

If Italy want to create smaller aircrafts, it more likely. But even for that someone mentioned that it would take decades still,.

I would urge Turkey to focus on commercial electronics such as the next great smart phone, the next car company, etc.

Another company we can look up to is Bombardier of Canada. I wouldn't be surprised if we decide to go for something like bombardier's Q400, a ~50 seat prop regional aircraft with very low operational costs. I have flown in older Dash 8 a number of times and they are really great for short distances. Air Canada flies quite a few of them for their budget "Tango" routes.
