*Turk foreign minister says peaceful settlement must be acceptable to Pakistan, India and Kashmiri people *Saudi envoy asks international community to resolve longstanding Kashmir issue

NEW YORK – Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu has said that Turkey is ready to play its due role for a peaceful settlement of longstanding Kashmir issue and the solution should be acceptable to Pakistan, India and Kashmiri people – the real stakeholders.

“Aspirations of Kashmiri people for self-determination must be addressed in accordance with relevant UN resolutions and Turkey is ready to play its due role in this regard,” he said during a sideline meeting of the OIC Contact Group on Jammu Kashmir here at the UN headquarters in New York. The meeting was chaired by OIC Secretary General Iyad Ameen Manani.

The Turk minister said that the international community had a moral and legal responsibility to resolve this longstanding issue. Expressing concern over cancellation of talks with Pakistan by India and the rising tensions across the Line of Control in the disputed state, he called on the parties to resume negotiations without delay and engage in a meaningful and result-oriented dialogue for a peaceful resolution of all disputes including Kashmir.

On the occasion, Saudi permanent representative to OIC Mohammad Tayyab also said that Jammu Kashmir was a longstanding issue on the agenda of the UN Security Council which needed resolution by the international community. Saudi Arabia strongly supported the realisation of the rights of Kashmiri people through peaceful dialogue, which was the only way out for both Pakistan and India, he said.

He said that any settlement of the conflict must take into account the aspirations of Kashmiri people. Saudi Arabia wanted Pakistan and India to resume negotiations process and the United Nations to invest more efforts in a peaceful resolution of the conflict. It was high-time that the Kashmiri people were given their fundamental human rights and a chance to live in peace and dignity, he said.

Azad Jammu Kashmir President Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob and Hurriyat representative Ishtiyaq Hameed also delivered statements in which they highlighted the ground situation arising from the continued Indian occupation and oppressions, and the recent devastating floods in both sides of the Line of Control. The Kashmiri delegation also presented a memorandum to the OIC secretary general containing proposals for a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir issue.

India knows what allowing the people of J&K to exercise their birth right to self determination would lead to. The entire Indian nation suffers from a genocidal hegemony and is living in mass self inflicted denial that somehow it would be able to maintain its colonial rule of J&K against the will of the people forever. India itself was once occupied by a superpower, if that can end, the Indian occupation of J&K will end too.

I suppose 'bilateral negotiations' today has a different meaning than what it held in the past. Oh well, nothing will change in this situation again except more bandwidth being wasted, calories burned and bullets being fired across both sides of the border as a way of argument.

India doesn't WANT a solution. It wants to keep Kashmir colonized under the iron first of 700K armed troopers. Now BJP's Hindutva camp wants to end Kashmir's special status which would only make it worse. The problem lies in the genocidal mentality of Indian nation in denial.

so you want us to handle this the hard way?
You have tried in the past. You won't be stupid enough to try it in future. If you want to, go ahead. But there is a reason why your military has not dared to openly attack India since 1971, and has outsourced fighting to non uniformed terrorists. That strategy has harmed you more than us.

What other "hard way" do you have in mind?

Who is LOL ing now troll?
Indians.

Why,dont you want a peaceful solution?
You rather have the current situation, with a possible war in the future?
We are more than happy with the status quo. Pakistan is too weak to steal our state from us by force.

me trolling & ur stupid post about 700k troops in Kashmir is a fact lol

"What really arouses anti-India sentiments is the gargantuan security presence in the valley; over the last two decades, Kashmir has become a garrison state. There are nearly 700,000 Indian security personnel stationed in the region — one for every 20 Kashmiris, one of the highest soldier-to-civilian ratios in the world. Armed with automatic rifles, they occupy schools, hospitals, shopping centers, temples, mosques, cafes, and playgrounds."
