Turkish security forces have reportedly captured 22 suspected members of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) as a result of a large-scale operation Çukurca district of Hakkari province.


Private Cihan news agency reported late on Friday that the local gendarmerie forces captured 22 terrorists with their weapons in Çukurca district suspected of killing nine soldiers and a village guard ten days ago.Suspected PKK members attacked a military convoy in Çukurca district last Wednesday, killing nine soldiers.

It's really annoying to hear of the deaths of the conscripts, very annoying. I think the government should slam 10 billion $ instantly and get that professional army up and running.

You know what i find annoying? The Fact that we are having projects for modernization of the heavy metal of the turkish army but dont have a modernization or project for the turkish soldier itself which actually mathers. If we Give our soldiers the latest equipment like the Indian INSAS program or spanish COMFUT we would have less casualties

That is true, but to be honest it's pointless to give such equipment to a conscript army, if you give it to a professional army then it'll really make a difference.

Still wouldnt matter that much as PKK avoid facing the army directly they prefer to use mines, as they hide this gives them the advantage of attacking first and whenever they feel its better for them..so anyway our soldiers will get continue to hurt.. What we need is different kind of strategies, armed drones and like during the 90s with countre-guerilla forces backed up with infiltrators, spies with direct intelligence.. Also most important deterrent for them would be to bring deathpenalty back in force for terorrism and other crimes.. Other way it wouldnt be a equal fair fight to be honest!
