Hi Friends I thought we could discuss something about this bird......
I invite members to share interesting events, news and photos related to this aircraft.
This is one of the engineering marvel this world has seen.
P.S Please let us be constructive and if possible Technical.

By the fact that these pics are from BR, I guess you know the infos they have, but for those who don't know:

Because its Russia. Its normal for them to do that.

Russia is not like India(western puppet) whose fighters require Western permission to cross borders even during wartime(Kargil).

U r a clever man sir...... But my intention is to get some technical news.
Unlike other aircrafts this is the worlds fastest turboprop plane. My doubt is how did they manage the counter rotating prop?

The Kuznyetsov NK-12MV turboprop engine uses a reduction gear to decrease the speed of the turbine from 8300 rpm to 736 rpm for the propellers. This power transmission is not done evenly, the front AV-60N propeller get 54.4% of the power through the single-stage gearbox, while the rear propeller gets 45.5% through a planetary coupling. This allows the front propeller to turn counterclockwise, and the rear propeller to turn clockwise. The 32 tips of the eight propellers turn at 2.3 times the speed of sound, creating an enormous noise that can be heard at some 3 kms by intercepting pilots, despite the distance, the noise of their own engines, the enclosed cockpit, and their helmet headphones.

The "BEAR F" in the inventory of the Indian Navy is known to the Russians as the TU-142ME (Morskoy Eksport = Naval Export). "BEAR F Mod 3" is simply the codename given by NATO to this version of this airplane. The 8 Bear Fs are based at Arakkonam in Tamil Nadu, and at Dabolim, Goa.
