TTP to launch wave of revenge attacks in Pakistan

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: The Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) announced on Friday they would orchestrate a wave of revenge attacks against the government afternaming hardline commander Mullah Fazlullah as their new leader.

The rise of Fazlullah, who is known for his ruthless reputation and rejection of peace talks, by the Taliban shura (leadership council) a day earlier, follows the killing of the outlawed outfit’s previous leader Hakimullah Mehsud in a US drone strike on Nov 1.

“We will target security forces, government installations, political leaders and police,” Asmatullah Shaheen, head of the shura and caretaker leader of the TTP, told Reuters by telephone from an undisclosed location.

Good....the enemy has given you notice of his intentions.....and an excuse if you need it. Call the Americans, get the drones working overtime & arrange for some more TTP leaders to join their former boss. Alternately, if you can, do the job yourselves. For heaven's sake, stop whining........

3.had pakistan shown some foresight and used its power to make afghansitan a corridoar for central asian trade & oil routes pakistan would have been an Asian super power by now but they traded if for emotions(SA/Ummah's thekedari) and wepon and monitarry aid as USSR was a commounist power and was dead against feudalism

4.pakistan chose to fight against logick and failed on foriegn policy as it chose easy money/wepons over hard work & upliftment of masses ..though the elite got more power ful but what happened to masses u know better

The Taliban only need an excuse to kill innocent people. This is part of their evil strategy to continue the murders they have been inflicting on the Pakistani people. They need any pretext just to murder innocent Pakistani civilians. Here the pretext is religion and it has been effective in fooling Pakistani people who are impressionable and emotional.

The Taliban are beyond peace. They cannot be negotiated with. They are animals worthy only of suffering.

This is partly us Pakistanis fault too. We have failed to be pro-active. We should eliminate threats before they occur instead of simply responding to threats as they appear. I suggest here 20 points for the successful elimination of terrorism:

1) Proper intelligence network, not shoddy intelligence chasing innocent civilians instead of terrorists but real intelligence.
2) Repeal of biased disgraceful laws based on Shariah such as the hudood law and blasphemy law.
3) Rehaul of the education system. Stop preaching hate to children about Hindus and anyone else.
4) End of the draconian collective responsibility act of FCR which holds an entire tribe responsible for the actions of one evil man.
5) Development through education programs and improving the basic lifestyle of the local inhabitants.
6) Teach tolerance and inter-faith harmony through courses in the school level.
7) Improvement of the security forces and the police (also the frontier constabulary) as a bulwark against terrorists.
8) Targetted operations against the terrorists which do not harm innocent civilians. Great care is needed to avoid civilian casualties often caused by artillary shelling and airstrikes
9) Elimination of militant commanders through targeted operations.
10) No talk of peace deals with the Taliban.
11) No painting of liberals as enemies of Pakistan, instead listening to their message of peace and harmony.
12) Combat terrorism through television and radio ads. Initiate a law that demands television channels and radio channels to play a government message against terrorism to the people of Pakistan.
13) Introduce a government accepted curriculam to combat terrorism in madrassas and religious schools.
14) Mullahs who preach at mosques should be handpicked from an academy where tolerance is preached instead of hate against other religions. Their sermons should strictly be controlled by a legal body. This is to ensure that no hate is promoted.
15) Stop the drone attacks and take charge of fighting this war ourselves, not on foreign behest. Develop strategies to hunt down top commanders of the TTP we need to eliminate instead of targetting the Haqqanis, Nazirs and Hekmatyars
16) Cut the funding of the Taliban. Eliminate their sources of income and cut off their finances.
17) Stop the militants ability to recruit anywhere. Destroy their bastions and eliminate their recruitment bases.
18) End injustice. Injustice provides the militants opportunities to recruit. Make sure a poor person is never mistreated.
19) Try to create divisions within the Taliban network. For example make group A fight group B. We don't have to do anything other than watch the Taliban destroy themselves.
20) Make FATA either a new province or merge it with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

I wanted any poster to come up with a solution to put a lid on these *Mullahs once and for all and you have excellent points there.

I feel it needs an all round, wide ranging effort and not just military operations to root out these groups.

First of all,who told you that by 'temporary' peace settlements,I meant to accept their writ and their demands?
That is so tragic if you think that my context of above statement means to surrender infront of those insurgents whose hands are covered in blood of our women,children and jawans.
We know that operation is one and only option we are left with,however operations alone never give you sucess,unless they are not accompanied by proper political/strategical/social and tactical moves...
Remember,our agenda is not only to destroy TTP alone,but to bury it's agenda and extremism along with it.
The peace settlements can be used as a 'tool' to reduce their influence and to 'expose' their agenda,in a such a way that if Mehsud denied to have peace settlements with us (as expected) then we were in a position to 'justify' our action by 'exposing'.
We were then in a position to project that:'We have tried all ways to settle matters peacefully and to avoid more life loss,however the current response by terrorists has left us with no other choice but to wage operation' thus silencing crtitic/taliban sympathizers etc,plus cleaveage maybe expected to develop between so-called peace seeking groups and aggressive allies ( like last time,due to which Mehsud asked his one aggressive ally to leave Pakistan within 24 hours)
but current US influence and then their 'dramay bazi' that:This is Pakistan's internal matter' has raised question in our position,plus Fazullah has got reason to justify his insurgencies and talibans are more united then before,he can simply convience by recalling of death of his 'uncle' and Mehsud brothers via drone strike,now for them the only way to take revenge from America is to target Pakistani women and children....
Where as US has nothing to loose,their families are far away- secured in mainland,and expecting them to think of our interests is total foolishness as they will only assure in provision of safeguarding their benefits in Asian region...so in the end... who is gonna die?we..we the people of Pakistan.
May our weak politicans rot inside hell,forever!
Now our regime must initiate operation against them without any delay,at this time thinking of peace is totally a false strategy or else we can think of consequences.

After the killing of their Chief, when they want to take revenge, situation will obviously get worse. That girl in your avatar was shoot by TTP. We all know about the new chief of TTP. So I don't see again a change of peace talks with TTP. So fighting will be better option here as we will lose less.
