Trump threatens to withdraw US from WTO: Bloomberg

So they are fked big time if they leave

If they leave and the rest of the world simply stick with the WTO (and I believe it will, as in the case of the Iran nuclear deal - no body gives a hoot to the US screaming), that would indeed be an amazing development.

China (and others) should do things to encourage the US regime. For example, a WTO ruling against the US would be terrific at the moment.

They are forcing the entire planet to prepare for a post US era the damage he is doing will take decades to reverse :D

. .
I do not even think the damage is reversible. Because politics does not accept vacuum. So, any area abandoned by the US are filled quickly by others.

Not to mention that the centre of the world economy will be Asia by 2030.

Nah. Nothing will trump the US' position in the global economy, not even Trump himself. With a $19 trillion GDP and climbing at an unstoppable pace that no other country is even close to, despite China at under $12 billion. That kind of clout is not something that gets easily bumped off the throne, let alone get bumped at all. The US economy and its global powerhouse that is positioned to dominate the world for at least the foreseeable century, and then some.

I've lost count how many times people -- on this forum and elsewhere -- have said the US is dying, going to die, or is already dead. Only to be proven wrong again and again. :hitwall:

.
If this clown remain in power for a year more years, I would not be surprised if the dollar ceases to remain world currency.

I anticipate a Eurasia-centered new structuring. The US will definitely be there, but with its power and influence trimmed down to a reasonable level and its aggressiveness tamed.

only two words self destruct button is being pushed by trump USA dont need enemies it will fall from white house itslef

The US economy wont fall but its ability to influence world affairs tjrough its soft and hard power will decline sharply after allies start putting their interests above others infront of an illogical hawkish US in the end it will be a good thing for the world

More likely as the developing world moves to the developed World the power of each country in the developed World becomes diluted.

This guy is a total looser!... A mental!
You're not the first one to think that, nor the first one to make that mistake.

A check of the string of successes in Trump's career may serve to clear things up.

Terrible decision.

Trump's career includes a lot of bankruptcies. Hopefully, United States avoids the same fate.

It is important to note that Trump Jr. stated their high-end assets are disproportionately leveraged by Russians.

"In terms of high-end product influx into the US, Russians make up a pretty disproportionate cross-section of a lot of our assets," Trump Jr. said during a conference in New York in 2008.

Source: Trump's oldest son said a decade ago that a lot of the family's assets came from Russia

Where other people pay most or all of the price; he always seems to come out on top of them.

Hopefully, United States avoids the same fate.
Thank you.

In context, Jr. is discussing how Russians purchased a lot of Trump's buildings, apartments, etc. As far as that statement goes it's not "collusion" or malfeasance, just ordinary business - but the sort of out-of-context attack on Trump that the story source, The New York Times, is fond of nowadays.
