Trump threatens to withdraw US from WTO: Bloomberg

.
The US economy wont fall but its ability to influence world affairs tjrough its soft and hard power will decline sharply after allies start putting their interests above others infront of an illogical hawkish US in the end it will be a good thing for the world

But how are they going to do that? You know, there is so much truth in the old saying "when the United States sneezes, the rest of the world catches a cold." If you think about the financial bubble in 2008 and how the US bounced back out of that simply by bailing out the banks, but then look at the global snowball effect of that. Practically the entire world shook to its core and most top economies were reeling to make adjustments and every one of them suffered in some way or the other. The global inter-connectivity is not only fed by the US' top and best products in almost every single medium, it's also dictated and controlled by United States. That power is unchangeable because of that control. And we're not even talking about the US' military clout. You add that to its political and economic prowess and it's in a completely different stratosphere.

As far as Trump is concerned, the beauty of this system is there will always be checks and balances in place. Whatever he does and destroys, the next one can easily fix everything. Case in point, the last time we saw anything of the sort was right after 911. That event caused a ripple effect that bounced back and put the country into a financial destructive mode during George W. Bush's reign and the subsequent financial bubble burst at the end of his 8-year term. Then it took less than 8 years to straighten things out and now the US is even stronger than it has ever been. That is the perfect example of that power of the system with its own checks and balances. It can't be beat.

They will be forced to as USA becomes more isolationist
You think countries that require US agri imoirts wont look for alternative markets if their countries get slapped with tarrifs?
Multi national and regional alliances are being made to increase local trade and decrease dependence
The damage he is doing has now showed US as an extreme unreliable partner there will be a sharo decline in long term deals with US
If you only view the world from a US perspective you wont see what countries are doing to decrease dependence on US

Your point is akin to the analogy of million dollar corporations going up against a multi-trillion dollar mega complex with the power to yield the direction and outcome of each and every one of all those little corporations and do it easily. It won't make a slight difference, not even in a 100 years. That's the clout that the US has. It's an impenetrable, global, power structure that is at an unprecedented scale in history. It's been designed and specifically built that way, to hold all others in check and it has worked flawlessly in merely 300 years. This is not something that can be overtaken by a long shot, even with damage done by this clown in chief.

Long way to go for the US. Your great, great, great, great grand-kids won't even be around if and when that happens.

No body is going against it they will just follow the oath US oushes them into and stay there
US forced them to look for alternatives why do you think they will leave the alternatives again?
As share of others keeps rising in the global economy you will see a decrease a decrease in influence US has on others(US will not be weak but will not be able to chokeslam others into making bad decisions that onky benefit US)
