Trump's offer to mediate Kashmir has been consistent and predictable. At this point, he may have realized that all the geopolitical challenges for America in getting a favorable exit from Afghanistan is actually tied to the Kashmir conflict. He may not however realize the conviction of Indian state to not allow for the internationalization of the Kashmir conflict. The gargantuan Indian nationalism will not allow Indian politicians to consider US (or any other state) to talk on its behalf in this issue.
