The Baltic countries, Finland, and the Ukraine all prefer US/EU vs Russia dispite bordering Russia.
You're map is wrong. Taiwan is a separate country.
You can't use Russia as comparison because it has nothing much to trade beside selling oil, gas, military hardware, their light and heavy industrie can't compete around the world. Most Asian countries are #1 trading partner with China include Japan and Korea, Japan is not willing to lose China's market for the sake of TPP nor any Asians nations, they all want to be part of TPP and RCEPT to take advantage of both system. Even with TPP you think US will stop trading with China, US think to use TPP as bargain to get more concession from China but they already got their answer for recent tariff trade war with China.
Taiwan is part of China since immemorial time while Ryukyu 琉球諸島 was annexed by Japan in 19th century, according to Japanese defeated conditions after WW2 they should ceded all territories stealing from other nations or annex any land that is not belong to them such as Ryukyu (Okinawa) .
