U.S. voters don't seem to actually perceive Trump as stupid but as having a supersized ego. And Trump is undoubtedly a successful businessman and self-promoter. Reality TV served as a most effective training ground for entrancing the media into giving him coverage. All in all, he's the most impressive "outsider" candidate in many years.
