No matter what Indians are harping in their media , Trump seem to be loving the attention IK is showering on him by making him feel as if he is the only person in the world who can solve Kashmir issue.

IK ‘s personal appeals are stroking his ego and making him say things that are disaster to India’s narrative.

Please keep following events in mind that have lately transpired and give you a hint of American involvement. These are unprecedented in American policy towards Kashmir:

In his Washington meeting with IK, Trump repeatedly and openly showed his desire to be a mediator.

Americans did not veto or oppose holding UN meeting.

American media is overwhelmingly against Indian move.

First time in my memory Trump attended phone call from the Pakistani side and then later called himself both sides. ( remind me when was the last time American president called Pakistani PM).

Trump continues to show his eagerness to mediate. This is the latest statement from him today:

“On Tuesday, Trump reiterated the offer to mediate the “explosive” situation in Kashmir.

Trump said he would raise the matter over the weekend with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“Kashmir is a very complicated place. You have Hindus and you have the Muslims and I wouldn't say they get along so great,” Trump told reporters.

“I will do the best I can to mediate,” he said.”

  • US president says he will raise issue with India’s Modi during G7 summit in France
  • Pakistan says three of its civilians died in gunfire at de facto border, while India says one soldier was killed and four wounded

“Kashmir is a very complicated place. You have Hindus and you have the Muslims and I wouldn’t say they get along so great,” Trump told reporters at the White House.

“I will do the best I can to mediate,” he added.

Calls for Modi to step in as India erupts in fury over Trump’s Kashmir claims

At least 4,000 people have been detained in Indian-controlled Kashmir since early August when authorities imposed a communications blackout and restricted freedom of movement in the region.

A senior US official, who has just returned from a visit to the region, called on India on Tuesday to quickly release detainees and restore basic liberties.

“We continue to be very concerned by reports of detentions, and continued restrictions on the residents of the region,” the State Department official told reporters.

“We urge respect for individual rights, compliance with legal procedures and an inclusive dialogue,” said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

Both India and Pakistan have controlled portions of the former princely state of Kashmir since independence in 1947. The dispute over the Muslim-majority region has been the spark for two major wars and countless clashes between them.

Earlier this year they again came close to all-out conflict, after a militant attack in Indian-held Kashmir in February was claimed by a group based in Pakistan, touching off tit-for-tat air strikes.

India has bristled at any suggestion of foreign mediation and strenuously denied a claim by Trump last month that Modi had invited him to act as a peace broker.

It was also left seething when the UN Security Council held its first formal meeting on Kashmir in nearly half a century last week, saying it would not accept “international busybodies … tell(ing) us how to run our lives”.

India slams ‘international busybodies’ for interfering over Kashmir
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson told Modi in a phone call on Tuesday that the Kashmir dispute must be resolved between India and Pakistan alone.

Johnson “made clear that the UK views the issue of Kashmir as one for India and Pakistan to resolve bilaterally. He underlined the importance of resolving issues through dialogue”, a spokeswoman for his Downing Street office said.

But in a further sign of the international concern about the situation, officials in France said that President Emmanuel Macron would bring up Kashmir with Modi when the two meet in Paris ahead of the G7 summit.

In justifying the scrapping of Kashmir’s autonomy, Modi said last week that “fresh thinking” was needed after decades of bloodshed in Kashmir. But his decision provoked a widespread backlash and there have been several rallies in the regional capital Srinagar attracting thousands of demonstrators.

There was a talk about IK going to US again next month, wonder if thats still on the cards?

If it's being raised at G7 then it'll be India's voice that he will be hearing and nothing from us. That's not a pretty picture.

U.S. President says he will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the G7 Summit.
U.S. President Donald Trump said he would do his best to mediate or help somehow with the tensions between India and Pakistan over Kashmir.

Mr. Trump drew attention to the fact that he had spoken to the Prime Ministers of both countries on Monday and that he would be meeting Prime Minister Modi in Biarritz, France, for the G7 summit over the weekend. He stopped short of directly saying that he would discuss the Kashmir issue with Mr. Modi over the weekend.

“I get along really well with both of them. As you know, Prime Minister Khan was here just recently. And I was with ... I’m going to be with Prime Minister Modi. I’ll be with him over the weekend in France,” he said.

“I think we’re helping the situation. But there’s [sic] tremendous problems between those two countries, as you know. And I will do the best I can to mediate or do something,” Mr. Trump said on Monday afternoon in the Oval Office in the presence of Romanian President Klaus Iohannis prior to their bilateral meeting.

“Great relationship with both of them [ Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan], but they are not exactly friends at this moment. Complicated situation. A lot has to do with religion. Religion is a complicated subject,” Mr. Trump added. The segment of his comments on Kashmir also included his version of a history of the region.

“Well, they’ve been having this ... these talks for hundreds of years, even under different names. But this is ... but it’s Kashmir. And Kashmir is a very complicated place. You have the Hindus and you have the Muslims, and I wouldn’t say they get along so great. And that’s what you have right now,” Mr. Trump said, calling the situation “very explosive”.

The U.S. has been concerned about the risk of a nuclear confrontation between India and Pakistan — concerns that have especially been stressed since the terror attack in Pulwama on February 14 and the ensuing hostilities between the two countries. The U.S. also seeks Pakistan’s cooperation in ensuring that a peace deal is struck with the Taliban and the U.S. can begin withdrawing from Afghanistan.

At least he is committed trying his best to put both nuclear armed India and Pakistan on the negotiation table.

It'll only do us any good if its balanced. This isn't balanced this is BS that's what it is.

You need to understand where trump is coming from. When he became the POTUS he was briefed on the Kashmir issue by that scumbag named Bannon. This is how Bannon vies Modi:

He may go to attend UN conference and you know where he goes magic happens . Already England was trashed in Indian media for not stopping UN meeting.

The US policy makers may be worried about Modi's exceedingly toxic moves that will follow one another at a very fast rate!!! He needs to keep his base energized with higher dosage of xenophobic euphoria, which in this case harder and harder stances (read mass scale genocide) against the Muslims!!!! The intelligent folks know it too well where it's gonna lead to!!! It's the time to panic....
