There are a few things which cannot be explained.
1) The sheet: It makes the crime look pre planned an not a crime of opportunity which it would have been, had the three boys done it. They had no means of arranging a sheet as they were coming from the beach in their car, they were also hi on crack which means they wouldn't have had the sense to take forensic countermeasures. The sheet makes me think that it was not a rape at all because such measures are taken only to safeguard knees, elbows or back against harsh ground.
2) The shoe: How did one shoe find its way to the place where it was found, one mile in the opposite direction to where she was taken after the accident? Does this mean the shoe was found very near her house?? Because she was attacked 1 KM from her house?
3) The old Lady's account: Even if we ignore the lapses in timeline, the girl was in no position to scream so unless the place of the rape was right next to her house and in absolute silence, she would never have heard her calls. And if it was so near and so silent, why didn't she hear the commotion which happened a few minutes earlier?
Here's what i think happened, the three boys, under the influence of drugs, saw a very pretty girl riding a bike and when after her. Riding along her they passed remarks to which the girl must have replied with some words or gestures which would have enraged the boys. Angry, they rammed the car into the girl's bike, she fell and hit the road hard which caused the injuries including the head bump. They must have tried to stop her bleeding with a spare shirt but she must have fainted which must have given an impression to them that she had died. Realizing what they had done and remembering their tainted past, the boys panicked and thought of disposing her body. They parked their car quite far and carried her body to the place where they it the jungle (they might have been looking to throw her in the lake but saw someone, panicked and dropped her at the nearest secluded place.
After they left, someone who was related (possibly son) to the lady (who found her) was passing by going back to his house after fishing, girl who had come to and had started moaning, was heard by him. Seeing her lying there provocatively aroused his sick mind, he undressed and raped her furiously ripping open her shirt and tossing her bra, he must have placed the sheet which he was using to sit while fishing, to protect his elbows and knees from getting scratched by the ground, leaves and twigs. While he was in the act, his mother (or whatever relation she had with him) must have found him. Dumbfound, he must have forgotten to take the sheet, the lady could not turn him in obviously, they must have spent time arguing after which she asked him to leave and hailed over a passing by car and reported the girl.
Police must have investigated if the old women had a man in her house and where he was that day, matched his DNA and denture and found their man.
The shoe that want found 1 mile further held no significance, it must have been picked up by a dog and dropped later.
