My guess would be that for long term COIN operations the PA will likely look at 1 to 3 brigades worth of troops stationed in Swat as a heavy backup. The Frontier Corps will play the central COIN role, bolstered by the Constabulary, Scouts Levies and local law enforcement including the new 'Elite Police Force' members being raised.

I see no indications at this point that the PA has changed its mind over having nothing but a 'backup role' in its long term COIN strategy.

Screw everyone. We need to protect our interests. If that means not removing a single soldier from the border so be it. This is excellent news.
