Tripura stresses on connectivity through Bangladesh to reduce distance from mainland

The net result of that exchange was India ceded 40sq km extra territory to Bangladesh.

Tripura is a small hilly state and doesn't have much of resources.
Doesn't matter. As long as these territories are inaccessible to India. The enclaves were in favor of Bangladesh and that's not the same as a 10000 sqkm land. Give it a rest BD.

Tripura has around 16 billion meter cubes of Gas reserves.:)

Well, people from Tripura travel to Bangladesh daily for livelihood, trading, and even education. Better ask them how is Bangladesh to live in.
You're welcome to block them if at all we care. It's a small state with around 30 lakh people with a predominantly Hindu population.

Bangladesh should allow complete access to India, for better growth.
Same should be reciprocated by India.
The economic benefits will be huge for both economies.

The then east Pakistan should have accepted the September 1947 offer by Tripura Marani to join it. But, Khwaza Nazimuddin, the then Chief Minister here, did not have the courtesy of even meeting her, the Muslim League politics was so fanatic in those days. She left Dhaka after a two-week stay in the Hotel Shahbag. Tripura finally joined the Union of India only in the latter part of 1948.

Today, the people of Tripura are suffering due to the negative decision by Nazimuddin. Its welfare depends upon the goodwill of Bangladesh and its people. My very personal opinion is to help Tripura whatever way BD can do it, be it connection or what. Tripura people helped our refugees during the 1971 war. We should not forget their contribution.

About Bangal and Ghoti (Ghatia). Tripura people are Bangal and WB people are Ghatia. They certainly do not mix with each other like water and oil. So, it is BD that should help the Tripura people out of their current misery.

GDP of Karnataka is equal to GDP of Dhaka Division.

People here are arguing to merge Tripura with Bangladesh because it's wholly dependent on Bangladesh for its survival, doesn't make sense it being part of India since Indians themselves need access to Bangladeshi ports to reach out to Tripura.
Lol! GDP of K'taka is $220bn while B'desh is $245bn. So you're saying Dhaka division alone has $220bn and the rest merely has $25bn??

As if Tripura is your dad's property...you just simply wanted India to gift Tripura. The GDP of Bangladesh is just equal to the state of Karnataka and you dream of lifting Tripura out of poverty

Where did you pull this nonsense from?

BD GDP is 286 billion US dollars.
Karnataka GDP is 200 billion US dollars.

What crap! you clearly have comprehension issues

Keep begging. No help should he given, deprive these north east parts till they agree to join Bangladesh. No help whatsoever. Didn’t tripura raja eanted to merge with Bangladesh? But the ignorant foold jinnah didn’t allow it.

Didn’t realise, I had so many typos there.

@LASER

Don’t be silly. And say such things about Bangladesh being not a nice place for minorities. There’s 15mill hindus, 12-13 tribes in the CHT area also have South Asians biggest pork farm, and guess what that too in a muslim country. Will India allow muslims to eat even beef in India without your hindutva goons harming/torturing/killing muslims in the name of your mata cow?.

In BD entertainment arena, many hindus, one of my fav actor is a Hindu (Chanchal Chowdhury) I enjoy his Dramas and films he done superb actor. in sports in female football team are many non muslims, mens cricket team has Hindu cricketers in 2015 I remember there was 3 Hindu (”minority”) cricketers same XI (“minority” not having a place in BD?), I’ve never seen 3muslim players in the India cricket team in the same XI) Not seen India having two muslim cricketers at once since mid 2000s, despite 200mill muslims - shows who’s depriving who. Chief justice was Hindu. So on and on. And you’re ignorantly telling people here Bangladesh not a place for minorities. Have some sanity. Bangladesh is a land of peaceful and tranquil coexistence between faiths, backgrounds. If we were that bad then we wouldn’t allowed the tribes in CHT to farm pork which is forbidden animal, and rightly so. But our Muslim Bdeshis dont go around killing them for eating pork like how hindutva rss terrorists do the harm/torturing muslims in india for beef consumption.

Now going back to Teipura. Do you know most of Tripura people origins from Bangladesh?
And even if for argument sake if you say its hindu majority so it can’t be added to Bangladesh. Then dude give back to BD; Karimganj, Murshidabad, Malda these areas were muslim majority and still is, these districts belongs to Bangladesh. Karimganj belongs to Sylhet!!!

Guy talks about the British theory, how they separated districts based on religion, Then kashmir should be given to Pakistan, it’s muslims majority and it don’t wanna be with India.

GDP of Karnataka, 2018-19 = INR 14.08 lakh crore est. ($190 billion)
GDP of Dhaka Division, 2018-19 = $160 billion (50% of Bangladesh's GDP, 2018-19 which is $320 billion est.)

GDPs of Dhaka Division and Karnataka, even though not equal but on the same league.

GDP of Chittagong Division, 2018-19 = $96 billion (30% of Bangladesh's GDP) is the next largest which is comparable to Delhi NCR, Haryana etc.

Tripura has around 16 billion meter cubes of Gas reserves.:)

Good but that's peanuts to be honest. Wouldn't even cover the national demand for a week.

Sunny, it's not the total availability. The net availability is 400billion CuM, the recoverable is 16Billion. India's total demand is 50B/Y. I guess you lot fill tires with Gas for 16B a week consumption. That's just gas, not to mention the Natural Rubber from Tripura. With a total GSDP of $5 billion/Y and that's not peanuts.;)

My mistake, got confused between Cubic meter and cubic feet.

Bangladesh's annual demand is around 40 billion cubic meter of gas. Which means Tripura wouldn't even cover the demand of half year.

And total availability means nothing, it's only the recoverable amount that constitutes 'reserve'.

Kiddo, GDP of Comilla district would be bigger than this. Stop embarrassing Tripura.

Err... Boi, you're talking about a nation's demand for half a year from a single state.

Recoverable changes with time. India is yet to start shale fracking, so imagine how much will that state alone will hold.

:lol:I'm not measuring dick, all I'm saying is $5 billion is not a small amount.

Delhi NCT, not NCR. NCR is far larger with the sub-cities...
