Tripura-Chittagong sea port bridge to be entirely funded by India

Why so many Bangladeshis go nuts in all the threads!! o_O

They cant accept the current situation or the fact India continues to outpace them.

As some Bangladeshi said in another thread said "we import even our Horlicks from India"...and then some others here want to "control" economically India's border states by some "X" future date.

It's quite laughable.

I mean simple question: why couldn't Bangladesh fund this bridge 50/50? India has to foot the whole bill...not to mention the credit line given to Bangladesh recently. So "controlling" any part of India in the future in some one way fashion.....okaaayy. :D

India should help in the development of Bangladesh,it is the best way to reduce illegal migration from Bangladesh

the present regime in India seems to have taken up the cause of integrating a lot of the North East with BD. In Hind sight, it seems that in Land Border Agreement between the two nations (India and BD), even though the Indian side lost a good bit of land, it is making up for the loss by better integration of its hinterlands to water ways and ports. A good sign of some positive thinking.

It shows how generous we really are

It shows how generous we really are

It was mostly a pragmatic, common sense decision. That border looked really ugly and inefficient....not to mention the tragic circumstances of those stuck in those enclaves.

The net gain/loss of land is miniscule relative to even Bangladesh total land area....not to mention India.

We can also secure the border now much better in this cooch behar area now...and you know the benefits of that surely.

BD economy will hit half a trillion dollars by 2025.

It will be the centre of a trillion dollar economy that pulls all neighbouring Indian states into it's orbit. Indian government has secretly encouraged this as it is the only way to develop those backward states.

The whole of the region of India that borders BD will be totally under BD economic control by 2030.

PS - BD sees no need to fund this bridge as it benefits India and not BD to have transit to Bay of Bengal ports. BD has ample resources and is using that to fund major projects like Padma Bridge and a sizeable chunk of the recently announced US4+ billion dollar railway from Dhaka to the South West.

Yah ok keep repeating this economic "control" nonsense.

There will be integration of the region sure.....no one is going to "control" anyone....if anything Bangladesh will be in the orbit of Eastern India states....seeing how your women are hooked on Indian dramas and your elite and middle class cannot get enough of Indian products and Kolkata visits....but what exactly is Bangladesh known for in India?

Bangladeshi women affected by Hindi serials.

But Bangladesh will not be in the orbit of East Indian states just because Bangladeshi women are affected by Indian serials.

Well obviously it wont be the only factor :D.

I am all for more integration originating from both sides. There is not going to be much one-way control economically given the size of populations in question....whatever some Bangladeshis want to project in their own reversal of how they have perceived the past in their eyes.

Hope it materialises soon, Indians are good planner but very bad at implementation.

This is one of biggest loophole in BD-IN relations. If both sides keep their promise, things could have been different. Most words are usually broken by the Big Bro India.

By growing it's economy as it is now doing.

BD should be able to control all neighbouring Indian states economically by 2030.

Monmohan Singh said, Bangladesh is the spring board for the development of 7 sister states. And, already we are big factor for Assam, Tripura.

bangladeshis can be excused for thinking that India cheats them and does not keep promise. However India does same everywhere, within the country(many unfinished projects) and outside in other countries.
bd is not special, we are famous for our redtape and lethargy... we are called elephants not tigers... lol

Also, W Bengal will by 2030 be in BD's economic orbit.

If everything goes according to plan, then by that time BD will be the heart of a 2 trillion dollar economy that takes in BD, W Bengal and the NE states.

Nationalistic Indians do not want to admit that only the relatively large BD domestic market, exports, investments and transit can save these Indian states from forever being backward, poor and rife with rebellion.

What's in it for BD? A market of around 300 million people in order to take advantage of economies of scale to propel it's industrialisation even further ahead.

This will be too much fantasy based talk if you bring WB. They are completely anti-Bengali, being Bengali. LOL.

Kipte lok jara kina free te electricity, bridge, infra banachche??

Banieche naki kichu? Akta Brick o boshate pareni.

Let's compare NE, WB, Odisha with Bangladesh,

These states have ports, steel plants, cement plants, gas extraction, oil refineries, shipyards, etc.

What does Bangladesh have to compete?

BD has ports, gas extraction, shipyards currently.

Other things will come as and when needed.

When needed? LOL Who will fund? You don't have it.

By that time, these states would be in a different stratosphere.
