And the range of this projectile is even less then an 7.62x39 Bullet fired from a Vintage AK. Whats the point of this stupidity in battle field.
A Basic Mortar can be made using Pipes and Gun Powder which is much more mobile deadly and accurate. This seems just Propaganda. Extremely hard to Mobilize, Easy Target, Failure prone, Limited Range, And no accuracy to speak of. It is and was designed as a Seige Weapon against ancient cities when Modern Ammunition and Fire arms were not invented, Even then it was not a battle field weapon

Its actually kind of funny,it basically shows you the technological progression from simple rubber band based catapults to fairly large and more complex trebuchets.
The down side is the lack of explosive payload that can be fired,the reload time between shots and the very poor accuracy.
Still on the upside these are very cheap and simple to build and operate and there is none of the potential artillery type signatures to give away your position ie smoke and sound,plus trebuchets have mortar like high angles of fire which are quite useful during urban/city fighting.
