Transformation of the last 053H2G frigate was completed and officially delivered to the Sri Lankan Navy

On June 6, 2019, the Sri Lankan Navy officially received the original Chinese Navy 053H2G frigate 542 "Tongling" ship at the Shanghai Shipyard in China, and now the Sri Lankan P625 patrol ship.
The 542 "Tongling" ship of the People's Liberation Army was the last of the 053H2G frigates and was commissioned in 1994. The ship has a full displacement of 2,250 tons. The main weapons include a double-tube 100mm gun, a red flag-61B short-range air defense missile, and two 3-unit YJ-8A anti-ship missiles.
A total of four 053H2G warships were built. The other three were 539 "Anqing" ships, 540 "Huainan" ships and 542 "Huaibei" ships. These three ships were retired in previous years and were converted and delivered to the Marine Police.
In 2018, Sri Lanka signed an agreement with China to purchase the 542 "Tongling" ship. After the modification, the ship will become the patrol building of the Sri Lankan Navy, with the number P625. It is worth mentioning that Bo Yaoping, the first flight captain of the Chinese Navy, served as the captain of the 542 ship.

2019年6月6日，斯里兰卡海军在中国上海船厂正式接收原中国海军053H2G护卫舰542“铜陵”舰，现斯里兰卡P625巡逻舰。
542“铜陵”舰是053H2G型护卫舰最后一艘，1994年服役。该舰满载排水量2250吨，主要武器包括一座双管100mm舰炮、1座红旗-61B型近程防空导弹、2座3联装YJ-8A型反舰导弹。
053H2G一共建造了4艘，另外3艘分别是539“安庆”舰、540“淮南”舰和542“淮北”舰，这三艘已于前些年退役，改装后交付给海警使用。
而在2018年，斯里兰卡就同中国签署了购买542“铜陵”舰的协议。该舰在改装后，将成为斯里兰卡海军的巡逻建，舷号P625。值得一提的是，中国海军第一批飞行舰长中的柏耀平，就曾担任542舰的舰长。
